My "way" of saying goodbye seems to be bothersome to you. I wanted to explain so It wouldn't seem brash, but I guess it did. There are some who I will miss, some who I won't. none of you are chopped liver, and I would have elaborated but I choose not to.

If I ever feel the need to come back, I will, but it is not looking that way right now.

Thanks everyone, I've met a lot of wonderfull people here, and I thank you.

You too? Gee whiz. First I comment in Mike's post...then I see yours. Wind, there will be more moments in your life than you can imagine right now, where rules and conditions will irritate you to no end. You will be upset by what to you is unfair treatment to your friends and/or yourself. That's life. No one said it was going to be easy. When you enter someone else's home, you naturally follow the "house rules." At least that is what I was taught. We enjoy our "visit" so much, we just buck up and carry on. One might not necessarily agree with each and every rule, but, once we go back to our own homes, we no longer need to worry. I hope I am makeing sense.
You have such a talent. I truly smiled everytime I saw that you had posted - before I even read what you had gifted us with. I am sorry you have decided to leave. Truly. Be well. Hugs, Chris

Hi kiddo.  I was just asking someone yesterday if they'd heard from you.  Guess this "explains" that.

I'm sorry you're leaving. I will miss you and your wonderful poetry.

hugs, Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

If you pull it because it is not to your taste, you are pulling a part of that person and saying that they are not good enough for your standards.

Oh I can assure you The DM Team does NOT just pull a poem because we don’t like it, there are several reasons why all of which I will not go into here however,  will list a few of the most common and most broken:
~~

1. Glorifying Suicide as a viable option to ending life
2. Cutting, Graphic Harm to oneself and or others
3. Profanity
4. Strong Sexual Overtures in OPEN forums

These are really simple and basic and in truth a part of the agreement from which everyone agrees to when entering the site, the DM team (and we are) did not make the rules, Ron decided that.

quote:
c. people won’t stick up for others because they are afraid that they will get in trouble with the moderators and be expelled or otherwise humiliated. I felt like that for too long.

Call me naive I have yet to see this happen to any one, and if it has, Ron or admins have swiftly taken care of it.   We can only do so much to get someone’s attention  sometimes the best way we know is to put a gentle reminder in a poem that says please check email;  Personally I don’t like to do that but figure it serves a purpose as we hope they will come back to check replies…

I have to say I am tired of everyone blaming the DM’s who do their job on their own time when ever a problem arises where everyone thinks we are being so unfair, we are human aside from all this,  if you want to point fingers do so at the ones causing the problem or the ones that don’t want to follow simple rules and  guidelines.  I challenge anyone to sign up and take the forums on, I think you will have better understanding and maybe a little more respect for not only Ron, but this site (do not read words into this I in no way meant anyone is being disrespectful)

Wind- As I do not know to what you are specifically talking, I cannot speak on that... HOWEVER, I can reply to this statement. NOTHING gets pulled without it being discussed by the Mod staff. And there are some writes that are well liked by the Mods that are still pulled, or moved because they fall outside of the allowable standards set by the Admins and by Ron. And if you seem to think that it is happening more than not, then that is the way YOU se it. At least half of the writes that are discussed stay in place.
Also, having poems pulled happens to EVERYONE at least once during their time here. I have been "chastized" by the Moderators more than once, and NEVER has it been done in a mean spirited way. AS soon as I became a Mod, I immediately checked the archives to see what had been said and found that the one I had pulled my first week was pulled because I postded something that wasn't mine (and I admitted to it in the post) and the one that I had moved was done because I used the dreaded asterisk. The third time I was chastized was for a challenge we had to write about our favorite song, and I used the words to the song in parts without giving proper credit. THREE TIMES I screwed up, and I have never seen it posted where my scribble had been removed for "I didn't like it" reasons.

If you would have the courage to become a Mod for even one short two-week run, you will see how much of a fallicy this statement is. The last time I was asked to change something I wrote, I was caught on a bad day and SEVERELY slammed the Mod that contacted me in a flaming e-mail that was not deserved at all... I was neither suspended, nor expelled. I also read in the Mod archives when I got here, that there were others that stood up for me in that case who were neither suspended nor expelled.
Again, I sincerely invite everyone who has been here for the required number iof posts to stop into the Members Area and request their turn at being a Mod. THEN ,and only then, do you have the right to make such statements.
Just my thoughts.

Hey sweety, I missed a lot here so it seems.

I'm sorry to see you go, but maybe that's part of growing up I suppose.

I'm sure you'll return someday, if only to say 'Hi sweety' to this 'ol' Dutchie

Be safe, where ever you go.

The problem is consistency, some people have been able to get away with things they shouldn't have in Open. This is what Liz is referring to when she says it seems like mods pull what they want to.

Liz, I didn't see the thread before you edited it. But, I doubt it would have made any difference in what I'm going to say.

All I want to say....in all sincerity....is that I already miss you (and all the others of my friends who are staying away from PIP for whatever reasons) and that I wish that you wouldn't leave. I love your poetry and I love you too, my little friend.

Please take care....and I would like to hear from you sometimes.
With love and hugs,
Ethel

Ringo, the star next to Liz's name isn't because she's sheriff. She's done a tour so by your rules she IS allowed to offer her thoughts. I'd offer my opinion I'll have to become a mod first so that THEN, and only then I can share them with you.

I don't mean to sound brash either, Wind and I have always enjoyed all the poets who have seemed to move on, but I don't understand  why in announcements the condemnation of moderators or this site and it's rules...there are feelings and  questions forums and emails to those behind the scenes who are in charge, to do that...why the need for attention... and  although there were times I was unhappy and thought maybe was treated unfairly, I decided that this site had much more to offer and  I don't understand why such a good bye..if you want to leave and only care about some people  why not just email them or chat with them and say goodbye.

Why make a big deal about it. Why delete the  main post so no one is sure of what your reasonings are or the responses to them and why have others speak for you.

We all interpret poetry differently, we are different generations and what is acceptable to some is not to others and if the guidelines "seem" not to be followed, then actions take place to satisfy the rules.

Many  have left before and many have returned. If it was me and I was leaving for good and felt I had good reason to justify it ( that had to do with the rules or poets on here ...for whatever reason), I wouldn't need the attention...I would just go on my way.

I wish all those who leave, the "findings" of whatever they are looking for.

Maureen

liz-
i've "lefT" pip for about 3 months now, and i do miss it, but i don't know. i mean, it won't be the same without your poetry...it just won't. how can you have pip talk without the dark poetry works of liz? ...but seriously, i've found myself every once and a while coming back to pip, but sometimes life just gets busy..right? i pop in occasionally, and no one notices, but i read..some. i look for certain people that i haven't talked to in ages. but i hope you come back someday....in 3 or 4 months.... ...i'll be back someday too....maybe during summer...hmm.

"there are feelings and  questions forums and emails to those behind the scenes who are in charge"

Maureen, the answer is that sometimes these avenues are exhausted or yield absolutely no resolution. Some mods seem outright arrogant and some won't bother to discuss things with you. I know this from my own experience. There are two particular mods that frustrate me to no end. I've asked for their help and have been outright ignored or lied to. It's out of frustration, total exasperation that people write and sometimes regret these goodbyes.

Many of these threads aren't an attack on all mods, or the rules. Sometimes it's a matter of inconsistency that makes people irate. I have complained yes but I also know there are some fantastic mods as well. I've had poems pulled but because certain mods were willing to speak to me and hear my case they were allowed to remain. I have nothing but praise for many of the mods. For example Sunshine, whom I deal with almost exclusively, has always been an amazing help and I have nothing but respect for her.

Raph- You are 100 % correct, and I do apologize to Wind. I didn't even see the star when I posted.
I should probably take this time to back away for a few... I'm starting to allow my personals to affect what I do here.
Anyways... I'll be back.
Thanks all.

Life is sadly all about choices, and I am so sorry you chose this one, but seeing that you have, I wish you well.  I enjoyed your work very much while you were here, and know it will only grow in time, and I will certainly miss seeing that.  Be well.
