Lyra, our dear one, was one of the most kind, most real, most caring friends I've ever known.  Her heart was always welcome others.  I consider her a hero.  I only wish I had her compassion and courage.  I loved her as a friend, was inspired by her fight.  Please don't ever forget her courage, or her poetry.

We all have our own battles to fight, but her own was incredible, especially in the calm and courageous way she fought it.  She never whined, but only fought and continued to fight.  Yes, I so much admired and still admire this great lady.

I feel God has a special place for her.  I truly believe that.  Dear Lyra, I post this to let you know how much I respect you, love and miss you, my friend.  You have not been forgotten, you never will!

Big hugs and God bless, sweet one.

Michael

Every day when sun is setting
I say hello to Lyra's light
Because for me in all her aspects
Her spirit shines ever so bright

She's often in my mind, my friend Lyra, and as you've said, her strength still inspires a lot of us.

Thank you for this lovely tribute to a unique Chipmunk.

Indeed - Michael, thank you for so unselfishly paying tribute to this wonderful lady.  For any who want to revisit or acquaint themselves with her poetry, it's all gathered here on her website - http://chipmunk.netpoets.net/

She was a truly wonderful lady.

You too, Michael, are a hero in your own right.  You are a man of true integrity and wisdom.  Thank you for being you...

Michael...
So good to read you here, and share these thoughts.  Have been thinking of her myself very much...something about the snow here in Michigan...She and I talked many times about pink cars, and fear of driving in the snow...and yet...she was the bravest person I have ever known.
Smiling at you.

She was also the bravest person I've ever known, one of the most dear, most sweet and one of the most sincere friends I've ever had.  Her example, her courage, should be a great inspiration to each of us. It certainly has been so to me.  I cannot begin to tell you how much I miss her, cannot begin to tell you just how much she dearly loved Super Dave.  HE was her hero!! Hey, he's my hero also, because he was there when she needed him the most.

Thank you, Dave, thanks from us all

She is missed from here as well, Michael.

I couldn't help but smile and reminisce when I received my "Reflections on the Web" copies. The dedication to Lyra warmed my heart, and made the book simply that much more precious.

Thank you Ron, for dedicating Reflections in this way. I know it touched many of us.

Hello Michael ... Buckets of tears were shed when my "Reflections on the Web" arrived and I saw that it was dedicated to Lyra. What a gift to her husband, Dave.

She and I used to talk on the phone for hours and I miss our chats so much. She will forever remain in my heart and I am one of many fortunate people to have known her.

Thank you for writing these beautiful words of her. Many of us here have debilitating illnesses and I  am inspired to carry on by her fight and strength right to the end.

Hugs to you dear man ... Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

You never realize how truely special someone is until you can talk to them, love on them, show them you care or even just read their new poetry anymore. I appreciated Miss Chipmunk dearly. *tears* And she will always be in my heart. I understand Auguste. I really do and you keep fighting cause we love you.

Love,

No Michael....she won't be forgotten,  for
there are far too many of us here who feel
just as you do....She had guts,  more than I
ever will...and she was a great inspiration
to me,  and to many others....

Thanx Michael...for saying what I feel,  for
what many of us feel....
