Normally, when you edit your own posts, the software adds the "Edited by" tag onto the end of the post. The purpose of this has always been to avoid confusion when a reply to what you said may potentially no longer apply to your edited words.

However, I noticed today that most edits aren't made to change the meaning of the post, but rather are made to correct simple typographical errors. We post, we read what we posted, and immediately realize we need to correct something. This is to be encouraged and doesn't really need anything added to the post for clarification.

Henceforth, any editing done within ten minutes of the original post will NOT receive the normal "Edited by" tag. This should give everyone plenty of time to correct typographical errors without cluttering their post with unnecessary clarifications.

99% of the time (especially if i'm typing from work... as i am right now) this is the bane of my posting existence... and i almost always mess something up the first time 'round.

so... does it work?

Sheesh is right - I didn't see this before getting my shirt in a knot and sending out an all points bulletin (thanks Kit!)  Sorry Ron about the unnecessary email.  I got stuck in edit hell actually! LOL.  I went to edit (like I normally do 1,500 times) and there was not even a poem there to edit!)

Actually may I ask for more than 10 minutes?  Like 2 hours maybe? And, you are right it won't work LOL!  Darn!

I had this sneaky trick of hiding when I edited by changing the font color - he fixed that too     See the darn old ugly edit thing there now?

I try soooooooooo hard not to have to edit by PREVIEWING like crazy ... but at times it is soooooooooooo necessary for that 'typo' that just wasn't caught ... GLAD to see this and actually I've never really understood why the 'edit' thing was necessary anyhow~
BUT ... we'll live with whatever works for you~

Okay, Sharon, just for you, I've upped the limit to thirty minutes.

That extra twenty minutes has to come from somewhere, though. I don't make too terribly many mistakes, so I gave you three of my ten minutes. Everyone knows Nan never makes mistakes (or never admits to them, at any rate), so I gave you her whole ten minutes. That means you just need to convince a few more people to ante up seven minutes between them and you'll be all set.

I'll give her a minute, which leaves me 9.  Wait!  What if Mysteria is in a super groovy mood, turns around and finds an error in a really long post 2 minutes after she posts, corrects it in 1, and has 27 minutes left of her current request of 30 minutes?  Does that mean the next poster can have her 27 minutes in addition to their 10?  Hey...this could really work out for procrastinators!

I am now a charity case?  No problem, charity is good!  I will not be proud so I will take your 7 Ron, Nan's 10, Kit's 5, Sunshine's minute, and if my math is right that totals 23 minutes.  Now, with my original 10 minutes that makes it 33 minutes total, and that is good enough for me!  Why am I thinking I am the reason the software got changed? I laughed so hard one night when my dyslexia was full blown as I edited one poem 17 times

Well, thank you all so kindly for your donations this member of the peanut gallery sure appreciates it.  (LOL, at Ron about Nan, how true!) She even corrects spelling mistakes in MSN for goodness sake!  If you talk to me on MSN brother what you see is what you get, and sometimes it is an exercise in itself to figure out what I am typing.  LOL (Sure love ya all and thanks for your time.)

I will add most of my minutes to the communal pot as I feel if the Good Lord had meant for me to edit, I would have caught it. I only request the ability to draw on those occasions when I really put my foot into it

Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind
And brings me to despair.

Ummm...time is something that can't be bought or bartered. If it can? I'd like to have those 3 hours I lost when I had to sit in a boring meeting...or those 15 minutes I sat in a car waiting for some jerk to move his car out of the road..

ok..so if Mysteria gets minutes from everyone, can I have a minute of your time Ron? Just a minute! (You already know my opinion about 30 minutes from my email. It's just not enough. Sometimes a girl needs MORE time!)

Great idea, Ron. I'm sure you have a bank of donated minutes somewhere now, but I'd be happy to give someone about five minutes of my time. I don't really think I'd need any more than that for myself.

You never know, Pete.

The commander on JAG once promised a sailor a date with Jennifer Lopez in return for a favor. As the sailor was turning away, having agreed to the favor, the retired admiral incredulously asked, "Do you really know Jennifer Lopez?"

"Sure," replied the commander. "She's been cutting my hair for twelve years."
