News from Larry and Nancy Lee

Larry and I spoke at length on the phone this morning, and his spirits are fantastic.  With Larry’s approval I wish to share what is going on  right now, and here is part of one of his emails to me…
quote:
My courage has been strong from the start. You should have been there with the two ambulance teams. Somebody suggested we should throw a party so I could feel better! It's been a wild ride. The flat line experience was interesting to say the least. But my stay in the hospital was full of laughs and good times. Even on the angiogram table the staff and I were laughing ourselves silly. I hate to see people worry. So hope you relax soon.

It isn't that I don't know the risks, but rather that I know the outcome. I have made peace with God and trust he'll do what's right.

Larry was on his way back from Washington to Arizona on I-5, when he had his heart attack.  He managed to reach a prior neighbour who then called the ambulance and got him to the hospital.

At this point in time, Larry and his wife are in Portland and are trying to return to Phoenix today if possible.  Friends offered to drive his vehicle back to Arizona.  He’s told the airlines what is going on because he may need oxygen, and they have honored to have it available if it is needed.  He makes me laugh - he said, his only worry was they plop him in Las Vegas before he gets home! (Since when is that a bad thing?)

Once home, his friend who is a doctor, is already picking out a surgeon for his operation which is likely to be a quad bypass, as Larry has other trouble spots on his heart that can be fixed while in there.  His work is supportive and will make sure he has the recovery time needed.

So it looks to me that our Larry has the best lady and "Man" right next to him and in his heart, along with all of our prayers, so I think we can assume all is well and taken care of.  Keep him in your prayers though.  I will try to keep you informed, as I know anything new

God be with you Larry and Nancy Lee.

I think we need a new t.v. show after this called, "Everyone Loves Larry."

Sometimes we need a scare - seems to me
you've had your shares of ups and downs,
Larry, but thank God not only for His
mercies, but your laughter, verve and wit...

Going to keep you in my prayers, just
because I've gotten so GOOD at it lately!

Hugs to you, my friend!

Larry--

You remind me of the Wilde quote--"life is far too important to be taken seriously."

You remain in my thoughts and prayers and always bring a smile to me.

Please get well--

Larry, you've had so much to deal with in these last few years that your kind heart almost broke--literally! I have known several people who have had quadruple by-passes and they are feeling fantastic now! Maybe I'll ask my doctor if I can have one!

Hang in there! You're going to come through all this smelling like roses!

Love ya!

Larry for not one moment have you not shown love since the moment I met you, and I know miss chadwick is looking down at you from heaven and giving you a hug and a kiss and holding your hand.

I spoke to Larry yesterday briefly, and he was going to see a specialist today at 3:00 p.m. and I was going to phone him after that as he thought perhaps he may get whistled into surgery.  Unfortunately I was tied up at the doctor myself today, but Larry called and left a message on my answering machine that he is scheduled to go in for surgery on Monday if all goes well (that is great news!)  He is sounding weaker but sure appreciated all your thoughts and prayers as they meant a lot to him.  I will keep you posted (will call them tomorrow sometime.)

Darn, I  missed Larry again, but he did leave a message. I tried calling this morning but there was no answer.  He said that his cardiologist has cancelled his open heart surgery for Monday, and has scheduled him for an angioplasty instead.  This will give Larry at least 5-7 years before he requires open heart surgery, and given his young age this is a good thing!  He is very happy about this news.  He will be under lots of heart monitoring, and therapy, but he is really pleased with the course this doctor is taking.  That is the lastest news as of today.

Hi all!  We finally linked up for a phone call.  Larry is really exhausted, but still very, very funny!.  His angio is scheduled for Tuesday and get this - it is day surgery!  Modern medicine never ceases to amaze me.  He said that his doctor even said that he may even be able to return to work as early as a week from the surgery if all goes according to plan.  He is very positive, and so grateful to have gotten away with the angio, compared to open heart surgery, which will be evident down the road, but not this time!

I read him all your messages since last Friday, and he said, he sure misses everyone and thanked you all for your kind words, wishes, and prayers (looked like there is some strong power in prayer in Passions - you think?)

Holy cow!!!
Hey everybody, what incredible support! Kacy, a mantra? Thank you so much but I won't tell my board of elders okay?

The waiting is annoying. It will be twelve days from heart attack to procedure. But, it was the waiting that helped me dodge open heart surgery so I really can't complain.

And a special thanks to Sharon for keeping everybody posted. It is quite frustrating to be offline at home during this time. I am truly grateful for the friendship of each of you here. I hope you can imagine how very much it means to me. It is incredible, thank you.

Larry honey, you take care of you now and see, told you, a piece of cake!  Sorry we didn't connect that morning, if you can believe it or not, I managed to get myself really sick here, but they know what is now and can fix it.  Heck you are in better shape that I am.  Let's see here, I am deaf (only 20% in left ear), blurry vision, and I have some kind of Grade 10 Lemon Gin flu too so I won't be too talkative for a few days until I can hear I guess.  Some are loving this part, me being quiet LOL.

Well kiddo I knew you would be okie dokie, and don't be surprised if you are back to work in 10 days or less, so enjoy loafing around, and don't forget we ALL care about you in here.

P.S. Don't bother phoning, I am not kidding you I can't hear the phone LOL.
