Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-05-31 05:40 PM

No one said they could see the knees
Shaking ever so…
But just as I began to speak
The Kansas wind should blow…

But still our words were carried strong
From poets near and far
As Prairie Inkwells took the stage
And carried forth some stars…

We met new folks and shared the story
Of Passions in Poetry
So if new names appear on our boards
They may be from Kansas, you see…

Soon my five minutes of free speech time
Came to its normal end
But still a surprise awaited us
Just around the bend…

Another producer of a PBS
Said “may we interview?”
Bridget Shenachie looked at Sun
Poetry was getting its due!

Another five minutes of candid moment
Before we knew it the day was through
We thought we’d share the lime again,
This time with all of you!

Well, Poet people, we had a great time!  We were able to share several of our contributor poets’ poems, and I would like to thank Earth Angel, Poet deVine, Midnitesun, Titia, Charisma, Dark Angel, Garysgirl, QjQ, Patricia, and Nan for their contributions that helped to make up our brochure.  Bridget Shenachie and I had a wonderful time, and being able to share a common message of Passions in Poetry, with people from all over the world sharing the same common denominator – peace and kindness, respect and tolerance - meant so much to us.  Thank you for your assistance in making our day great!

This really was a fantastic day.  I second everything that Karilea said above.  Your poetry enriched our program and we are truly grateful to all the poets at PiP for their willingness to share their work.

I'm glad I could tribute to this event.

Thank you! I received my copies in the mail late this afternoon. What a wonderful presentation! I'll be keeping one copy,  sharing one with a friend, and perhaps passing one along to a local library if that's OK with you.
