... since Kit joined the forums?

Being Kit, she should enjoy knowing that 12,568 posts spread over three years averages out to 11.48 posts every single day, or one post every two hours (125.5 minutes to be exact). But, as impressive as the quantity of Kit's posts might be, they don't hold a candle to the quality of those posts. More than any other person, our Kit has helped to define and build the character of this place into something I am proud to call home.

I'm luckier than most, though, because I actually "met" Kit more than a year before she joined the forums, on March 13, 1999, when she submitted her first poem to the main site. In a very real sense, she was helping me build that part of Passions before the forums even existed. Today, her poetry is still among the most read and most appreciated at netpoets.com. For good reason.

Kit, we could never have done it without you. And I, for one, wouldn't ever want to try.

Kit was the one who sent me my welcome email... and from the start of my time at piptalk I think she's the one person I've always felt welcomed by.  Any time I screwed up here, said something wrong, did something wrong... lost my temper, lost my wits or let myself get carried away... she was always patient, compassionate and loving.  I really don't like to gush but, in all honesty... if not for her then I would have left piptalk a long time ago, just out of fear of not being accepted.  And as a result I wouldn't be half the poet I am today...

I owe my talent, my work and some of my closest friendships to piptalk... and therefore, to Kit, for being a constant reminder that I am in fact welcome here, that there are people like her, who care and will always have their arms open.

Every DM rotation I ever took (first under my old username), Kit worked with me on quite a few matters, helped me to get the hang of things and put forth my very best effort... always with that same professional, yet warm and friendly disposition of hers.

I can never thank this woman enough for all she's done for me personally, let alone for all of piptalk... I can only imagine what this place would be like without her.  But I don't really want to...

Thank you for posting this, Ron.  I needed an excuse to express my gratitude to Kit... this fits very nicely.

We all love you, Kit... I hope you realize that.  Your hard work has changed lives and will continue to change lives for what I hope is years to come.  Piptalk has a bright future ahead of it, and I intend to be a part of that future...

And I sincerely hope that you are also a part, but I doubt you would want it any other way.

Sorry if this is a little mushy, I get like that at times.  Not too often, just when the occasion calls for it.

Thanks always for the hugs, the smiles and the smilies...

Brian

may be as he

Well now, tributes should only go to worthy people. Kit you are eminately qualified for a tribute. How appropriate that it comes from Ron. Jealousy has not been a part of my life's experience. But I felt just a tinge of it in ready this tribute and its responses. You have touched many lives and I am delighted that mine is one of them. Here's to many more poems and posts...

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Kit, God Bless You, we all love you so much and I just want to share exactly how much your friendship means to me!

You are one of the best friends I've ever had and every time I read your beautiful poetry about life in general and compassion and the duets with Balladeer about family values, it always brings tears to my eyes knowing a wonderful loving golden heart you have!

You also were one of the main reasons I did not leave Passions when going through obscurity. When I joined in December of 2000, few ever read my poetry at first and I couldn't find my identity there, and when a few in the forums got me down, you were one of those special friends who helped me rise up again and get where I am!

I don't think we can ever thank you enough for all the love and commitment you bring to making Passions a special place, both in poetry, friendship, and the Deputy Mod Squad! As Ron is the creator and a heart of Passions, you definitely are the lungs that keep the soul of poetry breathing on, bringing life of poetry and song!

God Bless You, dearest Kit, yay, Happy 3rd Anniversary!!! (does happy dance)

Love,
Noah Eaton

Oh my goodness!  It really has been three years - I wrote a note yesterday and said it was about three years, but I honestly didn’t look at the date!

Well, you’ve all officially got me in tears, lol.  I’ve been feeling like I’ve not had enough time here at Passions lately, and have been missing my morning reads so much while peeking out from a mound of office work, and look what I found on a morning when I actually had part of the day at home (working, but at home) before heading in to the office!  You wonderful people just know how to make a lady’s day!

Thank you Ron, for thinking of me, and for such a lovely note.  Yes, I DO love statistics, lol, and had you not worked that all out for me, you know what I’d have been doing next, rofl.  You know me well, and I’m so glad of that.

Oh boy, you’ve got me thinking and reminiscing now.  Little did I know 4 years ago, when I first found the main site and submitted a few poems, what wonderful things would follow.  So many friendships … so much personal satisfaction … and so many people whom I’ve come to know and love so dearly through the main site and the forums.

You are a wonder, Ron … and are included ever so sweetly as one I’ve come to know and love.  Whatever I am able to give back to this community and to everyone I’ve come to know here, I am so happy to do so, for I am the one who has gained immeasurably by being a part of Passions.  Working with you these last three years has taught me so much about myself and my own world - even outside of Passions. It’s given me room to grow, room to think and to be creative, room to voice my opinions without retribution, and simply an avenue to learn and to participate in such an incredible community.

I owe a great deal to you, my friend … more than I could possibly say. Thank you Ron.

~*~

OK, now I can’t go back to work without thanking each of you individually …

Temptress:  Thanks so much for the kind words Jenn.  It’s been wonderful knowing you these past few years as well.

Nightshade:  The feelings are mutual Chris … I happen to think you’re pretty wonderful yourself.

Poet deVine:  It really is a welcoming site and I found it so easy to fit in when so many people have the qualities that I am drawn to Sharon … you are one of those who has those wonderful traits my friend.

Midnitesun:  Awwww, thank you for that Kacy.  On the days this rock doesn’t feel too solid, I always know I can come here to shore myself up. You and everyone here are a blessing to me.

Martie:  I think I’m the lucky one Martie … knowing people like you as been one of the things I have always loved and appreciated about Passions.

Balladeer:  Knowing you, and writing with you is a forever highlight for me as well Michael … thank you for all the inspiration you have brought me through these years.  I have enjoyed every moment of knowing you.  (ps … I think I hear a duet calling me now …)

Local Parasite:  I love mushy, and you’ve given me a great big hug over these internet lines Brian, that has me positively lighting up like a Christmas tree.  You are a very special young man … one whom I admire for many reasons, both for who you have become over these years, and who I know you will become in the future.  Some day I will definitely say “I knew you when”. Thank you for taking the time to let me know all of these wonderful thoughts. I am so very appreciative to hear this.

Larry C:  You have touched my life as well, Larry.  To know your strength in overcoming such difficult times has given me pause to reflect time and time again on how precious life truly is. You are an inspiration to me in many ways. Thank you.

HopeS:  It’s amazing how far we’ve come since 1999 Hope, and how far the forums and main site have grown. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Sunshine:  Me and my statistics, lol.  If you knew how many I’ve been piling over in the last 48 hours for the office, you’d know why this was so absolutely delightful to read this morning.  Thank you for the beautiful flowers Karilea  … and for being such a wonderful friend.

Nan:  Awwww … now how’d you know I’d need a pinch, lol?  You know me well Nan, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Your friendship is a treasure to me … I hope you sincerely know that.

Southern:  You have always encouraged me with your lovely comments, Ruth … and this is no exception. Thank you for such beautiful thoughts. * S *

Marge Tindal:  And you are the “gentle spirit” of the circle, my friend. Thank you for always being an inspiration for me as well. Huglets back to you.

Enchantress:  Thank you so much for this Nancy … now if I only had more time to give, you know I’d be here and reading like the old days, lol.  Soon, soon?

JP:  What a lovely thing to read, JP … many thanks to you for letting me know.

Regards2You:  I would like to add my sincerest thank you to you, Pat … I am very appreciative, thank you very much.

MistleToe Angel:  You are one of the sweetest people, Noah. Your enthusiasm, optimism and vivaciousness just bubble off the page, and I am ever so grateful to know you too. Thank you for these very beautiful words. I’m so glad you stayed and found your niche here within Passions.

Earth Angel:  Thank you so much for these beautiful words. I am so very appreciative, truly.

*~*

OK, now this lady’s going to have one more cry, and then I’m off to the office. Thanks so much everyone. This has come at a time when I really needed some hugs … and your words were them.

With much appreciation to all,
/Kit

Well Kitster, I met you last year in Cape Cod, and you and I shared 10 days this year together, and it seems that every year like a good wine, you just get better.  There is not another poet alive that stirs my emotions as you do, (but you know that  as you are "framed" on my wall).  There are few people that warm my heart the way you do, or care about folks the way you do that I have met anyway.  As Mike says you are the real deal and better in person, so until next time, know this lady, I love you to bits, and you are welcome to return to load my diswasher any time you want to.

Kit, your poems were some of the first that I read when I happened upon the main site of Passions In Poetry. You and Sharon (PoetdeVine)were the ones I read most. At that time I hadn't had the internet for very long, but loving poetry the way I do, I looked for it to read. Your poetry was so good and real that I kept going back to it. I have felt "heart" in every poem of yours I've read.

Well, not knowing exactly what to expect with forums on the internet, I stayed away from them for a long while. Then, one day I decided to just read in the forums. As most of you who are here know, I can't seem to stay away now. LOL

I said all that to say that though I'm sure it's probably a surprise to you who have gotten to know me and my big mouth, but there are times when I can't express myself the way I want to in words. Well, guess what I express myself with. Uh-huh....your smilies, Kit. I'll bet the word "kit" has been typed on my keyboard as much as any other words besides "Gary" and Love".  LOL And now, I'm getting long-winded trying to tell you how much I apprciate you and all you do here.

Oh, I've also noticed that even though you may not be visible on the forums as much as some of us, you are always there watching over us in the background. I've really noticed this lately.....

We all really do love you, Kit, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being YOU.

Heart Hugs to you, dear Lady

Justblue:  Thanks so much Bridgette. Three years has gone by very fast, and I’m so lucky to have found this place and all of you.

Mysteria:  I can’t thank you enough for all your warmth, care and friendship Sharon. Visiting with you last month was something I’ll treasure always. Thank you for all of the memories and most of all, for your wonderful friendship.  Love you too.

Dark Angel:  I truly think I’m the lucky one Maree, and thank you so very much for these kind words, they are greatly appreciated.

Garysgirl:  You sound very much like me Ethel!  I found the main site, then the forums, and was content to read in the background … very shy, and afraid to post and join the party.  It didn’t take long before I realized what a special group of people these were though, and jumped in feet first (with a little push from Nan, lol).  I’m so glad you like the smilies. It’s been a little while since I’ve done some, but hopefully this summer I’ll get to play some more.  Thank you for this lovely comment, I really appreciate it.

Seymour:  There is no “just” in any sentence with you in it my friend, and I am proud and happy to call you my friend as well.

With much appreciation and big hugs to all,
/Kit

You know that, all I can think about is, that we poets from PIP are the one who are lucky to have YOU as dministrator/moderator and spirit behind these blue walls.
And I think that Ron is very lucky too, to have you besides him to run these blue pages. So all I can say is;

Thank you Kit for your time, your spirit that you spend with us here.
