Yesterday my son told me he had his shots against Antrax and a few other terrible chemical wapens... this means that if there is going to be a war in Irak he has to go there too... he has already been to Kosovo and Bosnia...as a member of the Dutch KFOR... sigh... I feel so terrible about this... and there are so many mothers like me...

This is NOT what I had in my mind when he was born 25 years ago...and I was looking in his eyes for the first time...

I cannot even begin to imagine...

These days I am convinced I understand nothing about this world at all...

My heart goes out to you and your son, and the entire family of mothers who must feel the same as you right now. No mother chooses this pathway for her child.

My heart is breaking for you. There are so many mother's whose hearts are heavy like yours. I am so sorry.

It is not fair and it is not right ...

I will keep your son and all the other brave sons and daughters from around the world in my prayers.

I understand. I too will keep him in my prayers. My daughter was in the Air Force and her patriotic spirit is in full bloom now! If she could, she would re-inlist to join the other armed services around the world.

My friend... I thank you and your son for your sacrifice. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for your family, but I thank you.. and your whole nation for being loyal to your allies and to the cause of freedom. May God bless you all!

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.--Jesus Christ

I can only tell you as a Mother of a son, I can imagine the pain you are feeling along with the pride, but wondering which one outweighs the other.  May God be with you all at this time, and I shall truly say a prayer for you this evening.
