Hi everyone,

Earlier today Duncan sent me an email to ask if I knew how Lyra (Madam Chipmunk) was doing and I realized that I had been so busy with my own life and the holidays I had not spoken to Lyra for a while. So I got called Nan to get her on the phone too, and we called Pipps's little chipmunk to see how she was doing.  Like I mentioned to Lyra and I will to all of you, she is going to have her good days and bad days, and she is going through some bad ones right now which we hope will improve soon.

After her operation she went to physiotherapy for her leg and went a little overboard on the treadmill, which caused some damage to her back that is unknown at this time.  She will be going to a back doctor to see what is causing her all the pain, but her immediate problem seems to be pain management.  As we all know with severe pain you lose your focus and are not exactly Suzie or Simon Sunshine as it plain hurts!  She was exceptionally sweet (as only Lyra can be) considering the amounts of pain she in, and put up with Nan and I for almost an hour on the telephone.  Lyra is Lyra, hopeful and always putting up a wonderful front but this time even she admitted she is not too well and in severe pain.  She is ever hopeful about her birthday party still taking place, but we will keep everyone posted on that subject.

She actually apologized for not being able to fully participate in the forums at this time as she has lost her focus and can’t concentrate to read, let alone sit up, read and comment.  My goodness – this lady has done more commenting and reading on this site and is so well loved.  Please keep Lyra in your prayers if you will, and that was a request straight from Lyra.  When she feels better she said she would try to leave everyone a note herself.  If you wish to email her with prayers, David will read them to her.  When you are in severe pain it almost is healing to hear from friends with prayers and encouraging words.

Thank you all for your time.

I'll be sending Lyra a note.  Thank you Mysteria...when one is in pain, they hunker down...and try not to be a bother.  That Lyra knows we are thinking of her, is something ELSE for her to focus on.

Lyra is a wonderful lady indeed.  She's doing her best to get better so that she can join in our Passionate Place again.

I'm surely praying for you, Lyra - and for your remission on this physical struggle.

PdV - I think your idea is a good one.  It's funny - I've stayed with Lyra & Dave, and could find my way back quite easily - but never wrote down the address.  Perhaps Dave - You can email it to me, and I'll keep it in protective custody for her true friends who want send cards via snail mail to give her something tangible to hold onto... Loveya Lyra...

Thankyou so much for the update Sharon. Little Chippymunk had been on my mind even more than usual lately. May the good Lord lift this pain from her body. Bless her dear heart. Chris

Thank you for the update, Sharon. Nan and I were talking yesterday, and wondering how she was doing. I'm glad you and Nan were able to have a nice long chat, and hope Lyra's spirits were lifted.

Thanks for letting us know how things are going ... I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers as well.

I have Lyra's address Sharon and will email it to you.

Well, when someone is really sick I think we tend to shy away not knowing what to say, and the best way is to carry on as usual.  This is one "funny" lady, this Lyra of Kalamazoo.  She loves laughter, people and friends.  I send you the BIGGEST prayers I can pray Lyra for strength to just get through this day by day.

I think of our friend each day, and light a healing candle for her. Hope she likes lavendar and vanilla, my two favorite scents.
Sending to you, dearest Lyra, healing thoughts each day on scented breezes.

Hey Lyra ~~ I've been thinking of you and I'm sorry you are still in such miserable pain. Seems with modern science and medicine the doctors should be able to find out what's causing you so much discomfort.

You remain as always in my heart and prayers and I'm sending you a gentle hug.

Loves, Marti

I am Lyra's little sister. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, support and kind words. It means a lot to me that so many people care about my wonderful and very special sister. I spoke with her today and she is feeling much better and is "itching" to write poetry so you will probably hear from her soon. Thank you again. Marlys

Hello Marlys,

I was fortunate enough to have seen photos of you when I visited with Lyra and Dave this summer - It's nice to be able to put a face to your post.  You have a wonderful sister who's worth every bit of love and hugs we can muster up for her.

We'll continue our vigil on this end - Come stop by as frequently as you wish - as Dave does - We'd love to hear from you too...

Love ya Lyra!!...

Dave, as I am about to go to bed, I always come to this post to see who has sent their prayers to Lyra today.  It was so nice to see her sister here as well, and I will bid you both a pleasant rest and I am off to light my "Lyra Lamp" (which is an old-fashioned fairy lamp with a candle) and say a little prayer for my loving friend.  May God Bless.

Thank you for the update. Yes, I have been gone for awhile myself and life can get by awfully fast. I have just now gotten time to take a moment (usually takes me hours as I can't seem to draw myself away) to check in. I will get in touch with little chippy and try to provide her with some positive healing energy.

Sharon ~

Leave it to our dear Lyra to overdo it on the treadmill! She is so full of chutzpah!  I can picture the look of determination on her sweet face as she fights to regain her strength.

Lyra ~

I may not have been around for the past few weeks, but I have still had you in my prayers and have been sending you lots of love, and healing light!

Take care, Dear One!
Warm healing hugs,
Linda

I spoke to Lyra and Dave yesterday.  Lyra is "maintaining"... She's continuing to have some problems with her back pains - and some side effects from her medications are making things a bit uncomfortable for her - But - maintaining means "not getting worse"... Doesn't it?

Hang in there, Lyra - We love you...
