I just learned that my granddaughter Nicole's friend from school, the little boy (8 years old) who sat next to her in class, was killed this morning in a car accident on the way home from a trip to the Poconos with his uncle. It is suspected that the car slid on black ice on the highway and hit a tree head-on. Everyone in the car, except for a 4 year old girl (I don't know yet if this was a sibling or a cousin), were killed. The girl is in critical condition. Please keep this little girl and the entire family in your prayers, please? Also, keep Nicole in your prayers as well? She is very upset, understandably.

Hug and kiss those kids every chance you get. Tell your family and friends how much you love them. Make that phone call, write that letter, smile at that stranger. Strive to make every encounter that you have with everyone a blessing for them. Life is so short, and none of us know when it will be over.

Thanks everyone.

Denise

Denise--It is true, a minute keeps and takes a life.  I can understand this powerless feeling.  Good thoughts sent to all involved, especially you and your Nicole.

This is one more thing to add to a huge roller coaster of an emotionally drenching day for me... I'll surely include these folks in my plethora of prayers -

Denise,
Some day it will end. But today can be so hard. Prayers for all concerned.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Denise,

My prayers and love go to your granddaughter. I know how she is feeling as well as the family of the little boy as I lost my best friend earlier this week and had the hard task of burying her this morning.

Thank you, friends. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. I will let Nicole know that you are thinking of and praying for them.

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss too.

Nan, (((Hugs))) I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything is okay.

I've learned that the little girl is Jonathan's cousin and that there is also another survivor, Jonathan's uncle's fiance. She is in a coma. Please pray for her as well?

There is an ache in my heart for this family, their having lost a number of family members all at once. Losing even one is hard enough.

I spent the day with my children and my grandkids yesterday, fully realizing how blessed I was to be able to be with them, when so many others in this world won't be able to be with precious family members anymore. We went on the Santa Train Ride in New Hope, PA. We sang Christmas songs, chatted with Santa, and the kiddies had their pictures taken on Santa's lap.

Afterwards, Nicole talked about Jonathan. He was one of the 'nice' boys in class that she really liked. She then told me that Mommy had held her in her arms and 'rained' on her head when they found out about the accident, and then told her that Jonathan was now in heaven and to think of that whenever she feels sad.

I think it will hit her very hard tomorrow when Jonathan's desk is empty.

I hope someone was able to contact their teacher over the weekend, so that she doesn't have to find out until she arrives at school, but has time to prepare facing 30 bewildered little faces. We only heard of the tragedy as soon as we did because the uncle was a friend of Nicole's father's sister.

Thank you, again, for your thoughts and prayers, everyone.

There is never a good time to lose a child, but Christmas time has to be the worst.

My heart and prayers go out to your granddaughter and this family. May God bring them comfort in their time of terrible grief.

Hugs, Marti
