Howdy all. Doing some one handed typing, so please excuse any typos found.

Well, after working for 4 weeks, for 40 hours per week with Huffy Service First, I went to a doctor about numbness, tingling, and pain in my dominant right hand. This past Friday, I learned that at almost 32 years of age, I am the proud recipient of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. And life has been very interesting this week, as I learn how to do things with my left hand. Brushing my teeth has been an adventure to say the least.

I'm still here though, albiet a tad slower, and will continue my moderating of the Alley and Lounge.

I will learn the next step in this crazy dance Friday, when I go in for a checkup.

Isn't carpal tunnel fun?  I alleviated a lot of surgical procedure by going first to the chiropractor and getting my back and neck adjusted which was one of the main problems of the tingling sensation and other symptoms of irritating pain.  Of course there are those out there who would say if we just got up and away from the computer, a lot of this would be resolved.

But how would our jobs get done?

Check out all avenues of cure, Ali...and my thoughts are with you!

Ouch! That must surely hurt. Reading this post I discovered something very painful that I have also...I am old enough to be your mother! When did that happen? I remember being 32 as if it were only yesterday!

I wish you a speedy recovery, Ali!

So THAT's my problem.. I should be getting up and exercising more...

Get those fingers fixed, Alicat - We need you around here... Not to worry though - We're not going anywhere.. Just get well and feel better soon...

I think you should listen to your doctors but try exercise before you opt for surgery. Don't worry about anything here, if you need help just yell!

Now, everyone raise your hands off the keyboard and rotate your hands..make small circles from your wrist down...open and close your fingers...extend your arms out to the side and flap your hands up and down like little wings. There! Doesn't that feel better (sure wish I could see you all doing this - it would exercise my funny bone!)

Alicat...I can relate to your current problems, back in 1994 I had my left hand operated on for the same thing and then in 1997 I had to have the same operation on my right hand.
Both are doing great now, but the healing process took awhile to regain full strength in my hands.

Just 3 weeks ago I had to have surgery on my left elbow, a pinched nerve leading to my little finger & ring finger causing numbness in both. My elbow is still in the healing process.

Don't rush it & listen to the doctor...Paul
