I couldn't access online with AOL this morning and was informed when contacting them, that I had  opened an email from an INSTAKISS, not knowing that it stole all my passwords and used my name to send porn out..which then brought a complaint or was discovered at aol and then refused me access to my account. I have to change all my passwords and scan for any virus' caused by this email. I just wanted to let those who use aol as a server to know...I am not sure if it affects any other  types of accounts.

Maureen

Thanks for the info Maureen!! This is scary stuff. I had a friend have this happen and he was being investigated for downloading child porn! Then they found out what had happened. I think everyone who has AOL should change their password NOW.

My daughter has had a problem signing on with AOL - and similarly with NetZero... She can't get past the "password" screen when she's trying to sign on with either program.  I'll pass this word along to her.  Thank you, Maureen...

You might want to try putting a firewall on your computer. I installed one the other day, and I was amazed at the amount of people who scan the networks looking for hole’s in computers that they can then access, and cause problems like yours Maureen. Most of the time they don’t get access, but occasionally they do. My firewall alerts me to the attempts and stops them getting through. I don’t have to do anything. The one I installed is called Black Ice, but I know there’s many others, and I think some are free to download.

(sigh) Oh my gosh, I know all about this virus, I got the exact same message and at first when I saw it I thought it was a special innocent kiss Joanna sent me, but then I found out it was a fake message and I got my password invalid too. (sigh) I hope this can get fixed up, I hated to think of myself as accidentley opening the message and spreading this to many others accidentley, let's encourage all not to open the messages!
