They say he is but balder-dash
a Balladeer by name
but his words could ring up cash
for poetry's his game!

He moderates, he spins a yarn
and stories! He can tell!
If you miss a poem, gosh-darn!
just follow the hoots and yells!

He takes on with southern pride
Long John, Toe, and others,
the words from his lips just glide
as if they were his brothers.

He doffs his hat to all the gals
so gallant is the 'Deer!
and now 12,000 thanks give we
to this man, our Balladeer!
