I had hoped to do this a little earlier, but time and I rarely get along as well as I hope. Better late than never?

I know there's been a little speculation floating around about the new Backroom Moderators forum, and it's time to end your curiosity. What is the Backroom? The easiest way to explain that is to let you discover it for yourselves.

As some of you already know, I've spent most of my time for the past several months rewriting every single program that has been running the main site for the last three years. Obviously, I couldn't rewrite and redesign the REAL main site, so I set up a "copy" of the main site at a different domain.

That testing domain is at pipWorld.com, and is very close to completion. The fastest way to find the Backroom is to submit a poem at http://pipworld.com/cgi/submit.cgi. If you already have a poem on the main site, make sure you use the same email address and the system will "find" you. If you don't know that address, try using the Author Login system first (there's a link to it on the submission page). The test site is not live data, so don't worry too much about what you actually submit.

After submitting, check your mail box. The usual confirmation letter you'll receive will include a link to the Backroom.

If you've never spent much time at the main site, the Backroom is going to be largely meaningless to you. It would be as if I made some major changes in the forums, then asked someone who's never been here before to take a look. They wouldn't even "see" the changes I made, because it's ALL brand new to them. I wanted to give our Members a chance to check things out before it's released to the rest of the world next week, but you needn't feel obligated.

Later, I'll tell you a little bit about Aphrodite…

This means no massive uploads of poetry..I think the main site is going to grow quickly from this point forward. It has been so successful but this 'instant' publishing will make it more so. I can see the stats soaring through the roof!

In submitting poems, when I first signed on here, for what is now the back room, I used my nicknmae instead of the name I use now at Passions Open, do i need to use my 'open forum' name and resign up or can I go by my nickname from a while ago and use that?  I just dont want people to think I am using someone elses poem when in fact its mine...Make sense???

You can use your nickname. That's not a problem. If you prefer to use Greeneyes, sign up again under that name and we'll try to merge the two.

Ron I have one question, what about the poems they were listed in the old submission sector. They had a P, are they erased now?
I can't find them on my list of submitted poems.

Ron...sounds like a great idea, going there now. Sharon directed me to this posting and suggested I check into backroom moderating. How do I do that?
