Well... I've seen the movie, read the last book... anyone else? Any opinions on either the 5th movie or 7th book?

For what it was, the movie was OK... for what it was supposed to be, the movie sucked.

There were too many story lines that were essential to the final battel that didn't make it to the movie.

What would you attempt to do...if you knew you could not fail?.

I was a little upset that the coins the used for the D.A. were left out. I'm okay with some of the things they condensed- aspects of Harry and Cho's relationship, the way the D.A. was busted- It's a long book, there's no way you can go into detail with everything. But... I was dissapointed with the fight scene in the ministry. They left a lot out from the book, and come on... the movie's already long, you're telling me you can't spend the extra 5 or 10 minutes to keep some of the really cool fight scene stuff in? And... in the book, they didn't all just walk out of the ministry, some of them were seriously injured. I think, with the 4th movie ending in an actual death, it would have been very appropriate to show some serious injuries in the 5th battle (and possibly to explain the veil Sirius fell behind? Seeing's how it wasn't even the "Avada Kedavra that killed him in the book...)

Okay, okay... gotta get off the nerdy high horse...

I'm really late getting into this thread...but I couldn't help it.

There were so many times when I was reading the books that I got really angry...people don't act like that in real life.  I actually really disliked the fifth book.  I was so disappointed when I found out the only thing they were hiding from Harry was the prophecy.  Seriously, if it was that big of a deal and Voldemort was after it that badly....take Harry to go get the prophecy, explain to him what it means, and destroy it....end of problem.  That being said, I thought the movie was even more disappointing.  The last book was great, though.  She really managed to surprise me with the ending.

I'll jump off my Harry Potter soap box now.
