I can not tell you how sick I was to hear that New Orleans suffered yet again in this crazy weather.

I just can't believe all this, and wondered how is the weather where YOU are?  Like for instance, Ron, how are you doing there in the mid-west?  Canadians on the east coast are in a storm, and Nan down there in MA too?  Let's hear how you all are making out and coping in this current weather please?  Funny this forum - it is like family, and I for one, tend to worry if I don't hear from people.

Hi Sharon! How's Stanley Park doing? Have they lost more trees in the storms?

And ... I agree .. will somebody fire the weatherman ... please?

It seems no matter where you are these days, the weather is bad. It's bitterly cold in Ontario. It just took me 40 minutes to do a normal 15 minute drive through town ... there's drifting snow and black ice all over.

And, we've got a cougar or a panther on the loose in our subdivision somewhere. Imagine standing outside freezing while waiting for the dog and keeping your eyes peeled for a big black cat. They have no idea where it came from, but it's out there. Sheesh. Come on spring!

Good grief!  As in a Florida Panther (the cougar's relative) or as in a big, huge, black one with big white teeth?  Cougar's mean business so don't try to talk it to death will ya, or don't waste your time staring him down.  He won't buy that. Gee, if it is from Florida, maybe a snowbird brought him up.     Thanks for checking in, and drive safely now, black ice is trecherous.

The people of Vancouver raised a ton of money to repair the park, that was good but now the government is forcing the homeless out of their homes,(the ones you saw in Gastown remember,) so they will be living there you can count on that!

PA is getting an ice storm, started snowing yesterday afternoon around 2 p.m., then changed to sleet and freezing rain around 7:30 p.m. and did that all night.  We are paralized here, snow emergencies all over the place, not that we've had accumulations of snow, but ice, sleet and freezing rain.  They said this afternoon it might rain hard, which would mean flooding, then around 4 p.m. freezing rain and sleet again...to add insult to injury, high winds which will knock down trees and power lines.  There is hardly anyone out, our area from Philadelphia on up to the Poconos and above are under snow emergencies.  Lots of ice folks...best thing to do is hunker down with a great book, or your honey, beings it's Valentine's Day.

Happy Wed. everyone, Happy Valentine's Day, and lets hope this weather changes real soon.  Be safe and thanks so much for this thread.

Hugs

Well - I hate to say it to you folks - But it's been a wonderfully warm winter here on Cape Cod.  The cape juts out into the Atlantic and sits in the Gulf Stream, keeping us significantly warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

It's just gotten colder (meaning in the teens and twenties) this week for the first time.  At the same time, I woke up this morning to about an inch of snow (along with a bit of ice) that's now melting - This makes our total snowfall for the season perhaps as much as two inches (a total from about three dustings).

I'm headed down to visit all that snow in Pennsylvania this weekend, though - Time for another poetic tryst with my pal, Liz Santos...

Correction - I just looked outside - The snow is long gone, and it's raining REALLY hard.  But the rest of the state is getting big snow..

North East Pa has finally gotten smacked with the wintery weather.
4-wheel drive vehicles are getting stuck in parts around here.
The snow has stopped, and we appear to be out of the bad parts of the storm... just small flurries left.

Here's hoisting a mugga' to y'all and hoping you are safe and warm wherever you are.

You may burn my flag... only after you wrap yourself in it first.

South central PA got iced today...I spent the 4 hours this morning shoveling and the last 3  reshoveling out...

Snow was bad enough but the sleeting all day was awful...other than that we have had a mild winter. No school today..not sure about tomorrow yet.

We had -1 last night...and expected to have that again tonight, or lower.  A dusting of snow today...felt like snowglobe territory.

But I would agree with hunkering down with anything warm, or a good book, or something that could MAKE you warm..after all, it is Valentines!

Make merry, folks...spring is around someone's corner....[except for those of you who don't know extremes!]

HUGS all!

Gee, I don't have a thing to complain about for some reason, it's raining and that is what it does here.  However, I won't hold my breath.

Global warming is not a nice thing.
