Has anyone here ever written a play? You know like Shakespearean and what not? I'm taking a stab at it. I'm basing it off an old poem of mine just to see if I can do it. I've been having a slow year as far as filming goes so I thought I'd try the theater to refresh things. Any thoughts on the theater just for fun?

Yep, though primarily One Acts, since I tend to get to the point. *chuckle* First one was an experiment, taking many of my Shakespearian sonnets and stringing them together, since they had common themes, then adding rhymed couplets and quatrains to fill the sonnet combinations out a bit, as well as additional dialogue. Came out very well when performed before a 3/4 Round at a SCA event many years ago.

That was before I ever attempted any theatre work, and wrote two more One Acts before I took a few roles in a local Dinner Theatre, as well as Shakespearian Summers, a yearly event at the college I attended. Overall, great fun, albeit the Dinner Theatre was VERY busy. 3 week runs with no time to spare: first week, the sets and costumes for the next production were started, second week was for rehearsals, and third week was for full dress rehearsals. And the week after that we went live and repeated the process for the upcoming show.

I wrote a play when I was but a lad.. although I fear it wasn't any good. It was (oddly enough) about a couple if high school kids.
I am currently researchin a few, now, that deal with various military subjects... although, not too Shakespearean.

You may burn my flag... only after you wrap yourself in it first.
