OK... so I am sitting here bored off my various body parts, awhen I discover the following facts about this fine day:

1000 Leif Ericson becomes the first European to land in Canada, when he lands in Newfoundland
1701 Yale is chartered in 1701
1776 San Francisco is settled by Spanish Missionaries
1988 The Washington Monument opens to the public
1946 The Iceman Cometh opens on Broadway
1967 Che Guevara is executed in Bolivia
1986 FOX Network begins broadcasting
2004 The first democratic elections are held in Afghanistan

Birthdays
John Lennon (Singer and guitar player for the Beatles)
Sean Lennon British Musician)
Trent Lott (American Politician)
John Entwistle (bassist for the Who)
Peter Tosh (Raggae Musician)
Jackson Browne (American Musician)
Sharon Osbourne (Ozzy's wife and manager)
Tony Shaloub (American Actor)
Scott Backula (American Actor)
Bobby Flay (World Famous Chef)
Eddie Guerrero (Professional Wrestler)
Bruce Catton (American Civil War Historian and author)
Robert Wuhl (American Actor)
Aimee Semple McPhearson (Canadian Evangelist)
Mike Singletary (American Football Player)

I am sure there is even more useless stuff that has happened today; however, I didn't write it down.

You may burn my flag... only after you wrap yourself in it first.
