Never close enough

Well, me and hubby stayed up till like 4 am watching a movie - something that we rarley ever get to do with all the kids around, but it was fun... and we were both sleepy as hell, but we made it through till the end

Anyhoo... after we went to bed I ofcourse was wide awake just staring at the ceiling fan and thinking how in the world one can be so sleep in another room, then get into bed and be wide awake?  He - was snoring 7 minutes after we got in there and here I am just riding the insomnia out.

I have had to get really strict with myself and make "me" stay in bed instead of getting up.

I realized however, that I have hit abnormal sleep preparation behavior when...

I was jotting things on a peice of scrap paper by the light of a flashlight - while never getting out of bed.

That's right... the paper, the pen and the light were on the headboard (bookcase) and there I lay - flat on my back writing my heart away

At this point... I may never sleep again

I can't buy a good idea during the day, but oh hell, you just wait till I lay down to go to sleep and I swear - they just ambush me all at once

Someone said meditate before bedtime....

My brain has never been that still

Absolutely empathise with ya on this one. My brain goes into overdrive the minute I turn the lights out. A tired person suddenly is wide awake! Though if I am knackered enough, I fall asleep blissfully quickly.
Hope your thoughts weren't disturbing ones! As that would add insult to injury!!

I've gone through these spurts, and believe me, they can last for YEARS, or so it seems, sometimes.  You're on MAMA overload, too.

"Gee, if I fall asleep too hard, will I hear the kids?"

The fact is, that fear is there until they leave home, and then you continue ON with it until they're old enough to have kids themselves and then it STILL continues because "what could happen to the grandkids" sometimes kicks in.

Question.

Which direction is your bed situated?

Methinks it just might be an all time "high" though?
