Raph- Thanks for the link. I was actually playing drums when that segment aired on the Muppet Show the first time. Since that day I have always felt that Buddy Rich was the best drummer to have ever lived although I don't say it too loudly to my "Keith Moon/ Neal Peart/ John Bonham pantheon" metal friends... they just plain don't get it.

thanks to Sharon for tuning me on to gene krupa, also on the site

Ringo know what you mean, rock guys have absolutely no idea how good jazz drummers are or that some of their favourite drummers are that way because of jazz. it's why i l#ved jimmy chamberlain from the smashing pumpkins

he's fantastic and animated, someone who really l#ves what they're doing! s'why i l#ved keith moon, sepaking of 60's drummers, mitch mitchell of the jimi hendrix experience was incredible
