Did yall hear on the news about Zabasearch?

You can look up your name and see address and phone numbers  AND IF THAT AINT ENOUGH (I know, ain't isn't a word) anyhow, you can see a satillite of where you live. Nice!!!

What's your take on it? I think its scary, I don't want someone looking for me..

it's interesting... i've found if i leave myself open to people, they're not that interested... seems they only want to find you when you're trying to hide from them...

i was screwing around with google's keyhole program for awhile, it is kind of disturbing what you can get access to. but privacy seems a moot point anyway, i mean between IP addresses, spyware, cell phones, GPS trackers..

GPS tracker?

I googled it, but I must still be foggy...

somebody 'splain to me in normal language please?

Would this, could this be helpful in locating the [expletive] who rear-ended my hubby two months ago and left the scene?

Y'see? The hubby told me if I could find somebody to sue for the cost of repairs, I could have the car, AND he would pick up the insurance too. (And smile--the car is PERFECT for me--a Crown Victoria, and it's the same color as the undercover cruisers our local police utilize--so? shrug--it's IMPOSSIBLE to score dope in that car!)

The furthest I could track ownership was to a dealer...but I think SOMEBODY must be liable, right? RIGHT?

(say yes please)

Well Kari, the fact that they have been shrugging it off makes me a tad suspicious--I mean, this IS Louisiana, where the law is pretty much

"It ain't what you did, it's who you know, and they like their pay offs in CASH."

yeah. I'm just a tad suspicous.

But we have a license #, and when I catch up with the hubby, I'll get the police report from him too.

Then I have to learn how to drive.

K? GPS Global Positioning Systems, most cars have em now

try Keyhole, you can find it at Google's Tool page. It is accurate and the sattelite photos are recent. With the trial you can only get so far, a couple of hundred feet above but it's enough to show detail and recognize yer homes

Haven't checked yet, but I really hope they can't pinpoint this house, for that would show all the outside work I haven't gotten done yet.

Google has been doing that for years, I can see my old house with a frigging map right to the front door . . . as long as you are listed in the phone book.

YEP,  GPS . .  satellites . . .

Scary . . . so just unlist yourself and you should be fine . . . just for fun, go put your name in a search and see what comes up . . .
