I met Bill Cosby at Denver Academy's 25th Anniversary ball. He's a great, candid guy. He'll be open to everyone on a variety of topics.

Boy, in the past year, I have met Howard Dean (a colorful, arousing personality), Daniel Ellsberg, Medea Benjamin (wonderful progressive voice), Norman Solomon, Michael Moore, Amy Goodman, and Alyssa Milano.

I've also seen Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, Live, Shakira, David Gray, Aimee Mann, The Chieftains, and the Indigo Girls to name some musical artists.

I still haven't met my aunt Sheryl Crow though.

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

In view of all the famous names being bandied about, I hesitate to mention my small encounter, but it was with John Denver and I have such admiration for him, I am going to.  I have a handicapped son and when John appeared in Spokane, Washington in 1992, (I believe) I was able to get a backstage pass, so Ron could meet him, as he loved John's music from a small boy.  John Denver spent half an hour with us, holding our hands and visiting like we were old friends.  He couldn't have been more charming and compassionate.  He gave us both big hugs when he left us and he gave Ron a t-shirt and autographed the backstage pass.  It was a moment to remember for both my son and me.  We were so sad when he crashed his plane.

The famous people I've met, you've probably never heard about:

Kevin Saunderson - The creator/father of techno music. (Which is, my life and joy)
Kevin Energy - A leading founder in the other genre of music I work with.
Sharkey - Another founder of that same 'other' genre...
Chris Liberator - A leader in the UK acid-techno movement to whom I've always had a massive ammount of respect and envy for.
Patrick DSP - A sort of hero of mine. Not exactly a leader or founder of anything...but he's internationally known for his skills, has taught me a few things and has helped me out alot.

If you couldn't guess, these names are only the aliases they go by when producing a song
or performing. :P

Trillium... John  Denver is about the coolest there ever was....
I love his music still (just don't tell the guys in my death metal band!!!). When the PMRCA hearings were being held, he stood for the rockers right to say what they wanted when he, on more than one occasion, said he didn't agree with the music, or the language.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen is a metal crowd doing a "ho-down" when we did Thank God I'm A Country Boy as a requested joke for a birthday boy....
I am enbious you got to meet him.

I have met Lynn Anderson, Shenandoah, Merle Haggard (jerk if I ever saw one), Diamond Rio, & Roseanne Barr (very funny woman). I would like to meet Alan Jackson and any of ZZ Top.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance.

A conversation with a co-worker today reminded me of my one brush with the famous - Kevin Costner almost hit me with a golf ball while I was walking down Pebble Beach about two or three years ago. He clearly saw this and with a crooked smile and a laugh in his voice, he told me something I'll never forget: "FORE!"

egowhores.com - really love yourself.

Ringo - I can't even begin to imagine what that sounded like...

Christopher -   I'm laughing - What would you have done had he beaned you?! You could have got him to autograph the ball...

SEA- It's from a song called "The Mission" by one of my top 2 favoritest groups Queensryche. It's from the album Operation:Mindcrime

Copperbell- IT actually sounded really cool... We changed the word fiddle to guitar, and had a guitar play the fiddle part. The audience went nutz!!!

just remembered, not sure how many know geddy lee but i've bumped into him twice. once at a surprise smashing pumpkins show, he said was great show and i nodded kind of surprised. and the other time i waited in line with him to watch jurassic park II at this great theatre downtown, i wanted to say something, but didn't want to bother him.

does pissing off an athlete count? after he roughed up one of my favourite players, I heckled ron hextall of the Philadelphia Flyers(or was he with the islanders at that point?)so bad he skated out of his crease to glare at me. i'm not a heckler either, i just hated him thaaat much.

ok..well there was the one time i heckled charles oakley from the 5th row at a raptors game. he looked but couldn't find me..much like the basket that night

Midnitesun, have been trying to get there since I got here. I detest Tennessee. I'm sure somewhere it has its good points but none of them have stuck me yet. Don't think I'll ever fit into the Hillbilly Shoes. I am a definite Yank thru and thru and I LOVE Yamhill County!!

My latest obsession, as a few of ya'll know by now, is...too young for me?

*wince*

I'll confess.

I've got it bad for that kid on American Idol.

Bo Bice. That one.

Constantine is cute too, but I like the way Bo handles his mic better.

VERY NICE JEANS.

PhaerieChild you'll love my story. I have a friend that in the '80s went to lake Shasta and rented a house boat. She put all the money down before they took possesion of the house boat for the week. Then she went to load the boat. They had put a large cleaning deposit on the boat and found it to be filthy. So she went looking for someone to confront. She found a guy that claimed he was management and she proceeded (in extremely profane words) to repeatedly berate him about how blankety blank mad she was that they would take so much money and provide her a blankety blank filthy boat. Her tirade was nearly five minutes long. And she was promised it would be taken care of. Her husband stood at a distance listening exceptionally bemused. As they walked away he asked if she knew who she was talking to and she replied no. Well he answered that was Merle Haggard!
