Why?

Because I said so.

sigh

Nah. Actually, it is "confession" time.

What stupid song do you love?

I was just sitting here, all innocent-like, I swear folks, and I dunno how it happened, but I have Hall & Oates on my playlist!

and okay, I confess, it must be some really nice really vague barroom dance memory, but One on One made me, well, sorta happy. (a teensy bit frisky too)

There.

I admitted it.

Now tell me, what really stupid song gives you the grins and tappy toes?

(We'll leave the unmentionables unmentioned.)

Heh-heh-heh....'tis a song from my, um, youth.... and a very well-written poem, now that I look at it with grown-up eyes.....syllables-deep rhyme, like a bunch of folks here don't do....beware (ha-ha) going here, cuz the tune will "hang" in your head for hours......

Ooh!I love you ratleader!!! Ohh yay! I hadn't heard that song forever. My house (which used to be my grandparents') is next to woods and when I was little I'd go out and make trails and build forts. Sometimes my grandpa would come with me for a tea party in the woods. And he'd sing or whistle that song all the time... with his toothpick bobbing up and down in his mouth the whole time. I loved that guy so much. Thank you for reminding...

Umm, except... now it's gonna be stuck in my head. Ugh!

Yay good memories...

For me, a city kid until about then...it was a Saturday radio show called "No School Today!"....which used it as a theme song.

I wouldn't be in school for a couple more years and had no idea what a woods actually looked like, but I sure did love that song!

Later, when I knew all too much about each, I still did....

I really like a few of them.
One is *Purple People Eater*

Another song I really liked was *Girls Just Wanna Have Fun* by Cyndi Lauper and *Spiders and Snakes* by Jim Stafford

Actually I like any silly song by Stafford or Ray Stevens

BTW Ratleader...I checked out the link for *Teddy Bear's Picnic* and realized I knew the tune but never knew the words. I really enjoyed it.

Fly Eagles Fly
On the road to vic-to-ry
fight, fight, fight...

Fly Eagles Fly
Score a touchdown
one, two, three...

Fly Eagles Fly
da da da da da da da...

GO EAGLES GO!!!!!!!!!!

(sorry, Nan)

Sorry, Karen, it's the only song we're singing here in Philly right now and it is stuck in my head! And I guess it qualifies as silly to most everyone, especially the Patriots fans.

We're really looking forward to our first Superbowl win ever!!!!!!!

Go Eagles Go!!!!!!!

I really didn't give a darn <--note my discretion on your behalf who won the superbowl, but because you have a lovely smile I will be pulling for the Eagles now.

I get stuck on Roger's and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma" quite often. It's sad, really, but is such a fun song to sing... especially when I get to the part where I can spell it...

And now for your edification?

A little "dance" music perhaps?

"Groove Me"

(oh the kids hate when I dance to that, wicked grins and nods, lotsa nice thrusty parts)

and somehow Christopher bellowing "Oklahoma" doesn't strike me the least bit odd.

And Capricious really should explain as I now have this perfectly lascivious visual in mind that would no doubt embarrass the heck outta one of our residents poets.
