Snow/ice is coming down at the rate of one to two inches an hour. I'm back on dialup tonight, because the satellite dish can't find it's way through the muck.

Sometimes, I think the only thing keeping me in Michigan is a really short memory.

Here in Florida, we are expecting rain tomorrow..don't have to shovel it! I think it's time you gave it up and moved...California..Arizona..Florida! What's one more snowbird here? (Don't forget your plaid bermuda shorts and your golf clubs!)

Shar? That front pushing through hit us at 3 a.m., complete with tornadoes.

(and I know, you really needed news of more bad weather) sigh

sorry

and Ron? snow, huh?

Never seen the stuff, but nodding sympathy to the dial-up. Now that sucks!

We had our 2.5 inches last night...and of course, I'm delighting in it, because I'm on dialup whether or not I want to be...

Sometimes those short memories are a blessing...

I mean, you really want to go through Hurricanes?

LOL @ the title of your thread. I was laughing before I opened it because I knew it was going to be weather related, rofl.  Yup ... Ontario sucks this week too, Ron.

At least you know you're not alone in this mess!

In general, I agree with you Ron.....but when I woke up this morning before sunrise and looked out the window, 3 does standing in my backyard in the 6" of fresh snow....some things just seem to make a nasty situation a little better.  Wishing you a Happy ( and white) Thanksgiving from northern Indiana..... Must be the same thing thing that keeps me at the shack, a short or very selective memory.
(Or, the fact that I can be profoundly lazy)

While Maryland doesn't, as a rule,  suffer from extremes of weather....our last couple winters were colder on average than Fairbanks Alaska...go figger

Well Ron, stay warm fella

After feeding the birds this morning, I was already cold and wet, and figured a few minutes longer wouldn't actually kill me. So, against my better judgment, I took these ...

Hey you!
From someone always talking about making life choices, I guess you chose to stay there another winter I see?         Ahh, such heartwarming pictures though, I see you are loving the birds.  LOL, here we go again!  Poor snowed in Ron.  You had better read Ed's comment carefully - his move also comes under the male's word,"soon", or women's words for it being, "procrastination" or "laziness." I have to agree with Martie, now go turn that frown upside down, and make a snowman for all those birds to perch on, or start making plans to "get out of Dodge." Ummm, looks good doesn't it?

I love my Florida.

I will *visit* snow from time to time...I have a hell of a throwing arm..

Hearing about the weather is not as good as actually seeing it...from the pictures I'd say it's BEAUTIFUL there...I can't FEEL it though!

It was a lovely day here - breezy and cool. Went for a walk after we ate, and the lawns are all green and lots of flowers are blooming.

Wow, you've got a whole bunch of feeders and houses Ron! I loved the pictures. Boy, they'll be thankful to have you there for them over the winter - lucky birds!

I noticed the one large feeder in the foreground that is sort of fat or round. Do you remember where you picked that one up? I haven't seen a shape quite like that, and it looks like a good size. I wouldn't mind looking for one myself.

How are the squirrels?  Do they give the birds some competition or not too bad?

Happy birds - I'm glad you're feeding them so well...

Ron doesn't have squirrels... I do, though - even a black one.  My squirrels are so fat from stealing bird food that they waddle when they walk...

I think it is lovely actually, and would be out playing in it if I didn't have this bronchitis that is.  You have turned into quite the bird lover, and I can understand why, they stole my heart long ago.  It really does look like a postcard Ron, and I have not seen or felt an icicle for so long I am totally envious.  Now you have all the makings there for the happiest of holidays.

Thanks Ron for the pictures, after growing up in northern michigan.  The pictures brought lots of memories.

Of course most memories of why I move south 14 years ago.  No more snow shovels.  Even though I continue to keep one of my grandpa's  old shovels that I have been carring around all that time.  And when winter comes now, i look at that shovel, feel my back.  i and then i say wow, i am glad i don't have to use that.

So as you can see Ron, that is why I only visit there now....

Thanks for the pics.

(lol at Wranx' comment)
Thanks for those photos, Ron. But I actually miss Alaska when I see snow photos with bird feeders, and remember how often I filled the Chikadee feeders, and the fights between the ravens and the squirrels over whatever treats I put under the trees near the wood pile. *sigh*
Don't miss the -50F either, but miss my meandering moose and the aurora.

I can honestly say I don't miss snow, however Thanksgiving did have a few snow flurries here in TN. From what I understand though it was just where I live. Go figure. I love to look at it. Hate to be out in it. I'll just enjoy your photos.

well Ron, all I can say is, in life, there is always a trade off...and to me those pics look like there's miles and miles of open space, oak trees and smells of pine....I betcha it doesn't suck during the summer months, although probably very short????

But this is a mouthful coming from me, as I hate winter and the cold with a passion...hehehehee

Loved the pics, thank you for posting.

Ya' know Ron...I lived in Berrien Springs and miss it a ton! I rode my bike in 39* weather today and my hands hurt. I thought for sure I woke up in Arizona. So you can run but you can't hide. Glad you have a short memory...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
