it's not a good idea to expect things without expressing your expectation.  People aren't telepathic, ya know...

Me?  I never expect anything.  I'm impossible to buy for, and I'm comfortable with that.

tonia - Happy Belated Birthday!
and I never expect anything really
I go by Dale Carnegie's advice:

1.  Imagine the worst case scenario
2.  Prepare to expect the worst
3.  Proceed

This way you never get really let down
It doesnt always work like I want but I do try to stick by this so when things do work out as I want - I am just beaming!

Good Luck

To be noticed. People just usually say hi and give me a check or something, then mingle and gossip. I only have a few friends who actually stay with me and hang out, while the rest just come for the food and to blab about their life.

thanks a lot guys!

kristie sue...exactly, even if it was just a phone call it'd be great.

local parasite, I see what you mean, glad to hear that you're comfortable with what you have.  =)

littlewing: many many thanks. I'll try your advice next time...so that i wont feel that I'm let down again. thanks!

miah...good attitude..keep up the spirit!

IcyFlamez89, yes...being noticed is a primary...it sucks when people forget your b-day..and especially when the person means a lot to you.

My birthday was not celebrated when I grew up.  I expect nothing on my birthday; for much of the year, except for identity cards, I forget when it is.

I don't ever expect anything for my birthday.

I'm incredibly difficult to buy for and I'd prefer it if people wouldn't try. I'm sure the Salvation Army appreciates all the things I donate to them, but I doubt the present givers do.

icebox: although your b-day was never celebrated, but I think anyone that knew your b-day still wished you luck on that day, and may your b-days always be remembered.

serenity blaze, haha. although I'm not quite sure what you meant, but I hope it's a good meaning anyway.

Jaime, you must be a very nice young fellow, knowing that you donate stuff to the salvation army. hope you're still happy with what you have, best wishes.
