What are your plans? Do you have any traditions? My family will have dinner at my house, and my grandpa, plus an aunt and uncle and their kids, will eat with us. Then, later on, we'll go down to my grandpa's house (yes the same one) for dessert. 3 kinds of pie, and my uncle may make an eclair dessert (which I like better than pie). Have a good Thanksgiving everybody!

I didn't do anything special. Actually, I can't remember what I did... I think my dad was away. *thinks hard* Yes, he was. I think we ate with my grandparents.

heh.

I'll get up early, but later than usual. Make coffee and probably watch the news..
later I'll prepare a dinner... probably salad, poached fish, veggies, and maybe an antipasta plate. Eat, clean up the dishes, and have a beer or two... watch the idiot box ( tv) or read a book...and later go to bed so I can get up and go to work on Friday.

Go to my parents.  Eat, drink, be merry have some family spats.  Try to leave early and get yelled at for only staying for 4 hours instead of 8. sigh.  Come home check my email, and go to bed.

Every year the family gathers at someones house. When I say family, I mean aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, grandkids, great grandkids, signficant others of grand kids, and any other stragglers we pick up on the way. Everybody brings a dish or so, but it's my grandmother (MawMaw) that really does the cooking. She's better than Martha Stewart, and farless annoying.
I'm talking about turkey and dressing, hams, turkeys, several types of beans or peas, HOME MADE mac and cheese, HOME MADE cream potatoes with sourcream and cheese in it (so good..), lots of pasta dishes, bread stuff, and lots lots more. And then there's the goodies. Home made cakes and pies.  Home made Ambrosia (food of the gods), divinity, chocolate and white chocolate covered pretzels, and whatever people bring. Loads of food, Loads of family, Loads of laughing, bickering, and general good fun. This happens all over again at Christmas time, except then we have a small lunch Christmas day, and then the huge dinner later that night.
We play cards, watch football, play with the kiddies, talk, talk, laugh, argue, and talk some more. Everyone tries to talk over each other so its this loud rumble. It's grand.
I love having a big family.
