Hi all,

I am working on an acrostic, but I need words that start with "O". Can anyone please help? Just list any words you can think of that begin with "O". Thanks. LOL.

Hi, Dawn~
You might want to try going to rhymezone.com
There is a pull-down menu that lets you decide
what kind of search you'd like to do.
Choose the 'match these letters' option, and
type in 'O' and a second letter of your choosing.
For instance 'or'.  This will pull up a huge
list of words beginning in 'or'.  You can do
it as many times as you need, using whichever
second letter you like.
I hope that helps.

Thank you both . My acrostic has four lines that must start with this "O". LOL. Hopefully I can share the outcome later tonight

What does your acrostic spell out? What is the poem about?

Ostentatious, officious, obsequious, obscene, obnoxious, ominous

Ontario, Oregon, ocean - geographical locations could be used out of context, as a description- for example, the band Soundgarden uses a lyric "Looking California/Feeling Minnesotta" I think that's it-

orderly

on, or, out, off

oust, observe, ogle

onslaught, octopus, oar...

rhymezone's a good idea.

I've always liked "ornate."  and if you have to use multiple instances of the same letter in an acrostic, maybe you should consider using some repetition... if you repeat the first half of an earlier O sentence and change the ending a little, it can even be stylistic...

In fact, I did that in both of the acrostics I've posted in PIPtalk...

My acrostic spells out "Her One True Food is Love". This came about by a mispoken phrase by me a few months ago, and of course one of my best friends and I wanted to see where I could go with it as an acrostic. I put it aside and forgot about it for a few months and am now attempting to finish it.

My friend has an obsession with cream. She likes to drink it, and apparently, derives great pleasure from it. My other friend calls it her 'orgasmic cream'.
