An interesting thought occured to me. Can anyone think of a new color?  I mean without the colors we already know about or the colors that can be mixed to form a new color.  Basically can anyone conceive of a new color?  I just can not think of one.  I guess it is kinda of impossible.  What do you all think?

Of course there's other colors!
Blurpla, a mixture of sinca and tolvin.
Stollinter, a mixture of grumpapapa and biln.
And, of course,

abacabadabahabaloobha.

Okay, I made that last one up.

It was actually pretty amazing, Sunshine.

I tried and tried, and still every color ended up sounding like something overheard from the Eastern Bloc.

My Polishness has strange ways of asserting itself sometimes. I don't even know the language! Sheesh.

But here's one interesting detail: Chmielecki means Place of the Hops. So either my ancestors were brewers,
or drunkards.

Sounds like poets.

I will stop rambling now.

hmmmmm, have no clue.  I guess I could make some name up, but to imagine a new color and what it would look like.  nope don't think so.  Hey if any of you can do it, I would love to see the color.

Well let's turn it around a little.  What color would "serendipity" be?

It would change,
depending on the angle
from which it is seen.

I think new colors will take on names from products such as:

XPBlue
Hurricane Gray
Smog Black
Passion Blue
DSL Green

bsquirrel,

Hahah thats cool.  I would like to see those colors.

I wonder if we can think of a color outside of the ones we know.  For example any colors like, gray, blue, purple ect.. we know.  Others can be mixed to form new colors.  I wonder if it is possible to think of a color that does not already exist.  Try not to use colors we know.  Basically I know it is impossible, but it is a crazy thought for me.  Like my mind can not think of anything beyond what is already there.  It is like trying to think of a new letter in the alphabet.  Or new sound not using our language or another.  Hmmmmm maybe I am just a weird guy hahahah.  Anyway thanks for your replies.

Okay. Well, visible light goes by additive properties. Such as, if you add blue to red, you get purple.

However, the wavelengths of light operate on subtractive properties. So that, for instance, maybe adding yellow and blue makes orange, not green.

So, bearing that in mind,
what colors would get
if you subtracted a wavelength
from nothing?

What if you divided it?
Multiplied it?

Now don't you wish you never asked?
