Hush,
Go listen to the albums Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography. I dare ya!

And I was remiss to leave off Oasis. When Live Forever plays, I can still smell the rain outside my old dorm room, a million years ago. *sigh*

Hi Mike, I am listening to joy division, their concert from Les Bains Douches. If you don't have it, get it.

I have The cure's first singles collection, I will have to get those albums you suggested. I hear pornography is supposed to be good. SO when I get some money or if when my currents mpg downloads are finished I'll get those songs.

Yep, I need that one, bri! I have the Preston gig, and that one is darkly amazing.
(Shadowplay tears the roof off my head)

And the Cure are a great band to get into; good luck leavin' 'em.

Seventeen Seconds is a chill interspersed with warmth.

Faith is a mountain with fog and graves and around it.

Pornography is two lovers being slashed by the rain and lights.

Beautiful stuff.

I most definitely don't have ONE fave misery song or album.... I'm a very troubled li'l grrl. When extremely sad, I always listen to either extremely sad or extremely angry music. If it can't make me cry more, or turn my sadness into anger, it's just going to make me feel worse and so frustrated. I'm weird, I understand.

I've got this weird thing where Marilyn Manson's two darkest albums (Antichrist Superstar and Holy Wood) find their way into my CD player when I'm most desperately sad. Nine Inch Nails' Downward Spiral or Fragile make it in when I'm achingly sad. The Cure's Pornography and Top are good for when I'm already a miserable mass on the floor. And give me something like Econoline Crush's Devil You Know, Tea Party's Transmission, Stabbing Westward's Darkest Days, and 30 Seconds to Mars' debut album for bad moods that I'm not entirely sure what they are.

I've even made musical compilations for when I hit these moods, ranging from Bif Naked's My Whole Life to Mesh's People Like Me (With This Gun).

My thought is that all this is better than taking medication.

your tongue's like poison
so swollen it fills up my mouth

Tchaikovsky's sixth symphony, especially the first movement is tragic, indeed. It can still bring a tear to my eye.

I used to have theme songs for my moods. lol It's like as soon as I'd hit a mood my theme song would come on. For a long time it was "Full of Grace" by Sarah McLachlan. The lyrics aren't necessarily on-your-knees-crying-out-for-nonexistent-angels, but the song itself sounded... sigh.

"I haven't seen the sun for weeks/too long, too far from home/I feel just like I'm sinking/and I claw for solid ground/I'm pulled down by the undertow/I never thought I could feel so low/oh darkness I feel like letting go"

It's just of.. holding on by a string.. not to hope, but to survival.. and doing what you know you have to do. Yeah, my little theme song.

Sanity is in itself enough to make you insane.
