Kind of a silly question I know....but is there any jewelry you wear that has a really special meaning for you? I have a necklace that I wear every day, it's a circle/ring thingy, about the size of a quarter, that says Believe on it. I wear it on a chain that I got at the same time, and I got it for maybe $3.50 or $4, but it means more to me than any nice or expensive one would. What about you guys, what do you wear and why does it mean so much to you?

I have some pendants that Lori gave me. One of them, a pewter Celtic design with a purple stone in the middle, I have stopped wearing because the string is very fragile.

But another one, which she got me from Black Sunrise, is this cool pewter spider pendant. I wear it all the time. The spider has sort of become a symbol for us, based on a novel she's writing called Teaching the Spiders to Cry.

Anyway, it's a little symbol of our love.

Aww that's sweet, Mike.

I got my necklace on a class trip with my school choir, I was looking through all the circles they had and couldn't find something I liked, something that I really "felt" (they all had different words on them) and then I saw the Believe one, and it was the only one with that on it. So I got it right away.

Anyway thanks for replying to this.

A pewter coffin with copper angel wings. Sacred Talismans design, which Mikhail got fr me. And I don't even feel at all weird that I like a Sacred Talismans design better than an Alchemy Gothic! I can't look at it without thinking of Mike.

I also worship my blood-cross (bad me; another Sacred Talismans). Mike tried to steal it once. Grr.

I also try to always wear a hematite ring. Can't at work anymore, though... Grr. Damn uniform policies.

Is this what you wanted me to be?

Ah, you’ve touched on one of my favourite things in the whole world…jewellery!!. I have some pieces that are very special to me. I wear my grandmothers engagement ring….a beautiful piece from the twenties that makes me think of her every time I wear it. Then there’s the long gold  antique locket that my mother had. I always wanted it when she was alive, but unfortunately she is no longer here. I think of her every time I put it on, and love to wear it. Along with the pair of diamond earrings that she was so thrilled with when I gave them to her one year for Christmas. I would rather that she was still here to wear them. But it makes me happy to wear something that gave her so much joy while she was here on this earth. I have a lot of other jewellery, but those are my fav’s. I particularly love antique jewellery, and often wonder about the person that had the piece before me.

My Wedding ring, and a ring he gave me for my birthday.
That's the only jewelry that has meaning to me, other than
the OLD opal ring my mom gave me, and I just recently lost it.

In the summer, I will sometimes wear toe rings.
Nothing else unless I am dressed up (ack) and going out,
somewhere nice, and that's not often!

I just love this topic!! I never leave the house without my silver!!!

My favorite and most cherished possession is my wedding set that was handed down from grandma to me...and I've had my moms stone from her wedding put in as well...so I'll have them both!!

On to the "me" stuff...mainly found in pawn shops in Santa Cruz...a slave bracelet with black onyx and turqoise from my husbands tribe in Arizona, four toe rings(one tattooed), and my leather arm bracelets..

I just love jewelry!!! good topic you!!

I have CASES of jewelry!!!! (of course.)

But, right now, I will take a quick inventory of what I am wearing. brb.

Okay...on the feet...barefoot sandals, which, can qualify as jewelry, (macrame' straps with little bronze things, hand-made by a friend for me---oooh, I've a pair in gold too...chuckle. for special occasions.)

Right big toe? A sterling snake.

Ankles. Left. A little enamel thingie...it sort of looks like dark blue waves---it reminded me of the ocean, which reminded me of Janet Marie--so I bought it and wear it constantly.
Right. Another anklet, sterling...suns moons and stars.

touching throat now (it's dark in here, I'm ruining my eyes, sigh..)

A thread of of smoky quartz chunks, nicely wrapped, clasp out front--the clasp is nice...has a long dangling chain, with a tiny broken heart attached.

fingers. smile. wedding band (mom's and dad's, handed down to a tearful me) engagement ring, topped by my grandmother's very simple, tiny, wedding band.

ears. silver again, with some sort of fake carbochon....looks kinda like an orange tiger eye.

AND DAMN...sometimes I even wear my tiara. grin..but not t'nite.

and that's it.

(grinning smile...I just got dressed fer bed! )

*this notice is subject to change*

another grin

I wear two rings on each of my middle fingers. On the left is a white gold topaz which was a christmas present from my mother and the other is a wound silver with a really interesting pattern on it. This was the first ring I ever received so that one has some special meaning. Around my neck there is a silver chain that a friend of mine gave me. I'm always wearing different kinds of earrings. No joke, I have about 50 different pairs so I'm slightly disturbed in that department.

A few years ago I was given a jewelry cabinet for...you guessed it...so much "stuff".  Can't help it.  My grandmother loved gifting me her hand-me-overs; while my mother wore very little.  So I have scads of stuff that I finger through to pick and choose from each day.  I rarely give any of my little pleasures away...and everything means something and I can tell you from whom I received trinkets...

friends know that if they want to give me something, a piece of inexpensive jewelry will do...simply because I know they have good taste, and on me, their good taste is worn with love and sincerity.

But picking a favorite among them is like picking a favorite friend or a favorite child...and I can never leave the others out!

My favorite piece is a gold locket that my Grandfather gave my Grandmother, for obvious sentimental reasons. I also adore antique cameos, though I seldom have something on that they go with. I otherwise like to wear stones, rose quartz, turqoise, hematite, amethyst, whatever suits for the mood.
I like the way they seem to warm as you wear them

I love jewelry; however, due to my allergy to nickel I can't wear most of it. Yes, weep for me.

Oh well. If I had too many options I wouldn't know what to do.

- first and foremost.. my silver ankh necklace.. it never comes off..
- a hemp choker my friend made for me
- a silver snake ring (although I'm pissed right now because I can't find it!)
- a choker that is black beads with one bead carved to look like a rose
- a hemp bracelet with a large scarab carved in stone on it
- my great grandmother's engagement ring
- a tiny seashell necklace which I've messed with in order to add a pretty (and larger) shell to the center that I found on the beach

Every now and then I wear a string of pearls. Either on my neck or on my wrist.

I'm married to Mr.Metaphor. We make love everyday.
