I cannot wait to see how conflicted this gets!

Bring it on.

My fave bands/groups/artists/whatever, or at least the first ten, are as follows.

1 - Jim Steinman
2 - The Cure
3 - Nine Inch Nails
4 - Depeche Mode
5 - The Sisters of Mercy
6 - Marilyn Manson (hey, you've gotta look past his surface! I don't like his image either, and I'm a self-professed freak)
7 - U2 (gimme '80s or gimme death!)
8 - Bif Naked
9 - Siouxsie and the Banshees
10 - Type O Negative

That's just the order they're in today. It changes. Though those have been the basic top ten since ... augh, a year ago now? Yeh.

I listen to waaaay more. Too much more. Am addicted to the '80s. And angry grrls. And trashy goth. I am sooo terrible.

Ain't it great?

Temple of LOVE, Devina. Early '80s or '92 version featuring Ofra Haza? Either or, I got 'em. But Mike too; hit him up for 'em, since he's in Cali already.

AND THAT WAS ON MEATLOAF! I know it was on his work before that, but I never would have known he even had other work if I hadn't of had Meatloaf as a jumping off point.

And I *know* it's Steinman that makes Meatloaf what he is. Witness that I don't have any non-Steinman Meatloaf. Also witness that the only Steinman by himself I have is Bad For Good.

You asked me favorite bands. You did not say favorite writers/composers.

Aw, Mikhail, you are so biased....

Most Faith & the Muse songs are written both by faith and Richards.   William often writes the backing music, while Monica creates the vocal tune.   They're very, very equal in that band. So just as it's Lennon/McCartney, it's Faith/Richards.

You're so adorable.

And, I asked fr fave band/group/artist/whatever.

And I've been sick too. Augh. Prolly tonselitis creeping in again, but I refuse to miss more work or to miss Idol, so I am forcing myself well. Great habit to get into.

I love you, Mikhail.

Devina--- big high five on Ani....

1. Ani DiFranco
2. Pink Floyd
3. Counting Crows

That's a definite order on those- the rest are random:

4. NIN (for purely musical reasons- I'm not a fan of trent's lyrics)
5. Nirvana
6. Hole (ONLY Live Through This- I thought Celebrity Skin sucked)
7. Cranberries
8. The Cure
9. Violent Femmes
10. The Pixies

Okay, have to add:

11. Smashing Pumpkins (esp. Siamese Dream)

Marilyn Manson... :::shudder:::- I feel that he is a stage most people outgrow... big-business shock-rock... I can still stomach Trent's self-loathing cheesy lyrics because a.) the music he does is usually really awesome- I'm a sucker for industrial and b.) they are a shade more mature than Manson's... anyway, there's my two cents.

Who is John Galt?

Kim Kissably and the Red Lips Sextet! The lead singer is hot. She's dating her calm and gentle bassist. The drummer looks like she dragged herself out of a bog. The guitarist once tripped on acid while she was playing an important concert, and thought she was seeing spiders the size of birthday cakes coming at her. The other guitarist has rainbow semi-hair, and she will no doubt become a drug casualty. AND ONE OF THE GRRLS PLAYS SAXAPHONE! Not to mention the goth on keyboards who's started her own fashion line (very successful in the States already).

And they're all from Lori's awesome mind!

No reason to be sorry, Sudhir. Most of the Nu-metal and commercialized metal and pop bands listed by many replying, doesn't do anything for me.  The music of both Nightwish and TOT is not for the majority and besides I am really impressed that you actually heard of those two band's music, however have have actually sat down and listened to them?
