was talking to a local (to the boards) kiwi tonight, and discovered to my horror, that this open minded, amazing poet thinks that country music is evil.

it's sad, really.

she'll probably come on here and defend herself, childishly claim that it's horrible, make allusions to something or the other that is really just a defense mechanism for someone who doesn't know how to dress... i really feel pity for her.

then probably make some comment as to my lack of dress... see, it's all defense. of course, with that kind of... ahem, rear, it's hard to accept that in others.

splutter..

Well, I find that when someone comes along before the accused can make their case, and predict what the accused will do, it's often a defense mechanism for their own insecurities. So - you get to feel good yourself as I can't defend myself - or my perfectly valid opinion...

To quote such a man of insecurity:

'it's sad, really.'

and now the person who thinks they have 'won' will come along and tell me how my 'comeback' sucked and wasn't very strong...and how he's beaten me verbally.

Hah.

WRONG!

ah, a retort from the depths of insecurity itself. it's not uncommon for those with no reason to have any esteem to attempt to lay blame in a fashion that not only labels their own failings, but places them on the other person in order to avoid having to face the truth of their own inadequacies.

-and, at the same time claims hypocrisy as an excuse to futher avoid facing the truth about their lack of taste - both in music and dress... and kiwis claim they are sophisticated.

Unfortunately, those with grammatical problems are also likely to suffer from problems with taste...this is actually a logical philosophy with beginnings in...er...ancient Melanesian history.

Hence we see that anyone who can write 'it's not uncommon for those with no reason to have any esteem to attempt to lay blame..' etc would in fact like country music, and be so incredibly insecure about that, that they feel unable to cope with a conflicting opinion. So unable to cope that they in fact have to make an announcement about it, in order to garner support, and a sense of validity about their own poor taste.

Sigh.
Oh, the world - it's a hard place to live in sometimes...so sad.

ah, another retort - this time, laden with the "i'm a lone wolf who doesn't conform to the values of an irrational society" attitude that denies itself by the very fact that being different is now in vogue.

to wit- disallowing another the concept of open-mindedness, while at the same time evincing none themselves is indicitive of the opposite side of the spectrum, wherin resides those "rebels" who use solitude and high-minded tantrums as a defense to keep out the possiblities of being required to join in with the society they fear, and therefore ridicule.

J - i hear they taste good though, especially barbequed

Country music promotes the use of textual postdialectic theory to deconstruct class divisions. Thus, its lyrical devices use the subdialectic desituationism to denote the common ground between culture and society, thereby establishing for itself a market comprised of both the educated wealthy and the illiterate poor. Unfortunately this does nothing to elevate the music itself to a status much evolved beyond simple children's limericks.

Ahha.

*Christopher goes to Doctor K*

Diagnosis: A classic case of 'Resorting To Garble' [Garbolistilism] mixed with a little hint of Pseudo-Intellectualism, designed to throw the accused off the track and put her hands to her mouth, muttering frantically about how incomprehensible it all is.

Remedy: Once a body resorts to sounding flash and verbally-technical, it is recommended that the subject lie down and think about how it is immpossible to outsmart the current accused.

Dose: It is advised that possessors of large ego's need to do this regularly.

Doctor K

Doctor K would also like to suggest to the sufferer of Dictionarielevatorious that he occasionally put it down and be original instead...

Language is part of the futility of art  says the sufferer of "Dictionarielevatorious". It could be said that the fair Doctor has interpolated into a modernist feminism that includes dismissing truth as a reality. Marx's model of the paradigm of reality implies that the goal of the doctor  is social comment, given that language is equal to reality.

DeVine - fingernails?

look, you want to make country music, here's the procedure:

procure one (1) ten (10)-foot by five (5)-foot blackboard
procure one (1) six (6) month-old kitten
angle blackboard at forty-five (45) degrees
mount microphone at base of blackboard
throw cat onto top end of blackboard
record
repeat as necessary.

*shudders in horror*

and of course, my girlfriend likes it.
sheesh.

Quit throwing cats on blackboards.  Don't you know that we have feelings too.  Nothing wrong witha little country here and there, but that had to be the good stuff and not the stuff that you can play backwards and get everything back.

"Just to see you smile, I'd do anything, that you wanted me to when all is said and done, I never count the cost- it's worth all that's lost; just to see you smile."

Ahhhhhh.... some country is very nice. That cat on the blackboard is old school crap country.

Why is it that we are at our most ingenius only when trying to destroy the things that keep us alive and thriving?
