and on a somewhat more note, if you make the assumption that the girl actually looked like that picture, rather than being cursed like so many of us with non-photogenic looks, it makes you wonder precisely how the newsies define the word "pretty."
but i actually agree with Christopher here (pauses for gasps of shock) that her appearance is totally irrelevant, both to the magnitude of the crime, and to the situation surrounding it.
however, it was the first thing noted by the reporters: the VERY FIRST SENTENCE of the news report makes a point of describing her as "pretty."
is that so very important?
and if so, again, why?
it doesn't make her guardian more observant, and it doesn't make the crime less committed.
it truly makes me wonder why we bother listening to the news.
