Okay...here's the deal. Last night I went to a party. I made friends (was fun) but the lady opposite me? Was about eight months pregnant, and I watched her in total fascination, as she took a bowl of ice cream and went to the salad bar, and added radishes. And raisins. And THEN? She put fried shrimp on the side. She came back and ate this with mucho gusto, saving the shrimp and using the melted ice cream as some sort of dip-- then she polished off the plate. I was in awe, until I remembered myself and my sudden affection for peanut butter and pickle sandwiches when I was expecting my son. So...after that lengthy intro?
I WANNA KNOW. Have YOU ever been so astounded while watching someone eat that you stopped speaking in mid-sentence? I want stories of your own cravings, or even just an eye-witness account!

Carly and I were playing truth-or-dare once... and I got her to enjoy a nice ketchup-and-peanut-butter sandwich.

She sounded pretty revolted throughout.  It was pretty amusing.

You're evil, Allan. That is disgusting..lol.

I don't eat enough to get cravings so I can't answer this one.

sweet bread and butter pickles with PB on Ritz crackers was their fave late night snack  LOL.... my thing while preggers was french fries dipped in tartar sauce ...
or chilidogs with a side of chili cheese fries  LOL...oh hell french fries with anything....

as for the wierdest thing Ive seen eaten...my grandpa used to eat hot white radishes sliced like pickles and sardine sandwhiches...and another fave of his (forgive me) fried "brain sandwiches" i think it was  cow brains....UGH....looked like cube steak....smelled like......nevermind.......
People who grew up in the "great depression" ate anything me thinks.

Child #1:  A girl

Typical meal:  Can of Beefaroni, half pint of chocolate milk, granny smith apple, cup of blueberry yogurt -- and other, stranger combinations.

Favorite snack:  Bean burrito from Taco Hell, no red sauce, extra onions.

Child #2:  A boy

Typical meal:  Sirloin Steak, extra rare, well seasoned but no salt.  Veggies, potato maybe, but I'll just pick at them -- what I really want is the MEAT! And the bloodier, the better.  I ate red meat 3 times a day at least when I was pregnant with my son.

Favorite snack:  anything chocolate.  I ate so much during my pregnancy that I couldn't stand to even look at anything resembling chocolate for at least a year afterward.

I am very hard to gross out with food, since my grandfather found a perverse delight in eating really WEIRD and typically inedible things, then coaxing me to try them -- usually with the promise of dessert.  I have eaten everything from lobster eyes to gator jowls to odd-looking bits of sushi whose origin I would rather not question ... and the only thing I hated so much that I just COULDN'T eat it without retching is GRITS.     Blech.

Someone gave me a sandwich that turned out to be full of Ambisol and cat food, once.

That sure stopped everyone in the room.

My question to you is have you ever gone back and had a peanutbutter and pickle sandwich? How did it taste and does it bring back memories?

Peanut butter and banana is good, peanut butter and butter is good, peanut butter and jelly on toast (or grilled) is good, but peanut butter and pickles....ewww...why ruin a good peanut butter sandwich by adding a nasty ol' pickle to it?

God bless America, my home sweet home.

I just love to make peanut butter sandwiches and sprinkle sugar on it. Man I could eat 3-4 a day.
Also I love condenced milk sandwiches
Some people call it sweet milk or the stuff you put in pies & things is what i'm talking about.I love it...

I heard on T.V. during an intervue with the country singer Alan Jackson he eats Pineapple & mayonnaise sandwiches...
