How did you all pick your Passions name? Those that are not your daily name. I'll start, of all the places I have seen, Catalina Island in Southern California is the most beautiful. And I am a full moon woman, in every way, except I don't turn into a wolf
Lets here what inspired you?

Ok it's time to admit. Turn inot around and you have my first name, Toni. I used inot2 on a chat room in ivillage, so when I joined here I thought inot2B was more poetic.

Here begins a boring story:

I chose my forum name because that is a name I’ve used for two years. When I got my computer, I wanted an identity other than my ‘real’ life identity. I think I wanted to hide behind the anonymity of a name that would be recognized as someone I never thought I could be.

I sat at my dining room table with poetry books, a thesaurus, a dictionary and paper and pencil. I knew I wanted an identity that would exemplify my body of work. I love ivy…the way it looks against a brick wall. I thought about each of my poems as a leaf of ivy on that vine. "Leaves of Inspiration" was my first choice, but couldn’t fit a suitable ‘name’ in there. I read about vines..about ivy…about branches…..until I realized that I could do a play on words.

The Vine……..deVine……..everyone mistakes it for divine (heavenly)..but actually it is the vine. Poet seemed the perfect first name….Poet of the Vine…..Lines deVine….deVine Lines….I’ve used them all.

Besides, it’s not bad to be called Poet. I hope I am one. And to be called deVine or deVine one or Lady deVine is quite a compliment!

So I put together my ‘mission statement’ that is on every web site I create for myself.

When you find love in each special line
know it was created by Poet deVine

Aww.. Poet, I liked that..

My name is very unoriginal.  I chose it because it was my name for opendiary.com at the time.  I tend to use to the same user names for many things so I won't be confused with which name goes to what.

Well...I borrowed my puppy's name because it was easy to remember!  How original is that?

Well, mine is kinda like inot2B's. I have a very large name, and one of the middle names is Alastair, which I started using almost exclusively back in 89 (there were just too many Michaels and Mikes at college). A friend of mine thought Alastair was too formal a name for our circle of friends, and shortened it to Ali, which stuck. Alicat was only a brief step away.

Now, my other alias, which I use at Yahoo, is persnikitty, and no, it was not derived from persian kitty, but persnickety, combined with my inherent feline qualities exemplified by Alicat. Ergo: persnikitty.

When I was a young man I vowed never to marry until I found the ideal woman. Well, I found her - but, alas, she was waiting for the perfect man. :(

It’s not hard to figure. Put me on highway, show me a sign, and take it to the limit, one more time.

Yeah, I knew this would be fun!  Sharon, I would not have guessed you were "of the vine" rather than divine. I will give you both, then. Interesting word play.

~sniff~

I thought I'd made it up. I thought I had invented it. Severn has a nice, cool long sound...it's pronounced Seh-veeern btw.

Then I find out from a delightful English friend that ~wail~ there's a huge river in England called the Severn.

Then I take a walk downtown and just happen to find myself walking along Severn Street.

I haven't gotten over it yet. I'm a cliche!

Did You Know:

The Severn is Britain's longest river

100 bridges cross the River Severn

The Severn has the second highest rise & fall of tide in the world

The worst flood on the Severn happened in 1795

rearrange the 2nd and 3rd numbers and... i know--that is reaching...lol

all to say-- at least your already taken invented name is interesting....heh

When I was 14 I picked Dopey_Dope. It was my first ever internet name.

I went to Washington State for summer and they use the word DOPE to mean COOL.

So I came back to PR and told all my friends my new word...."I'm dope" (meaning I'm cool).
They'd comment "dope? you mean you're dopey!"
they'd think they were real witty.....haha

So I just used : Dopey_Dope
Thought it was original enough....

Some people think I do drugs cuz of it....haha......i'm straightedge...no drug or booze has ever entered my body cept for tynelol and the like.
