If you could take a break for a month from anything at all (kids, housework, mowing the lawn) what would it be?

in all honesty, as much as I need a break from my kids...I don't think I could take a month of being away from them.....I would take a break from doing my chores... I would most like to take a break from paying bills    ~SEA

A break from life! I'd go to a deserted island, with blue crystal water, warm weather, and peace and quiet!!

My medical condition and taking pills every day.

I'd drive for a whole month - everywhere..all over the place...

A break from what? I am on break....I have nothing to break from.....

Well.....erm......I'd have to say I'd like to have a break from all my internal messed up heart broken thoughts. They haunt me still.....every night.

I'd take a break from everyone and everything I know. WhtDove's idea about the deserted island with the blue crystal water sounds wonderful! That is where I would be.

Just because I hear voices doesn't mean I'm crazy...SHUT UP IN THERE!!!

A break from soberness... and it would be at the bottom of a whiskey bottle, the sacrastic part of me speaks.

the nice part of me says Australia, a break from this country, family everything in this country.

First and foremost...my job...then paying all the bills...then a break from any and all responsibility for kids, hubby, dog, cat, and other assorted furry critters.

How can you save me?
When the dark comes right in and takes me,
from my front walk and into bed,
where it kisses my face and eats my head. Shivaree

I would rent a cabin in the woods..by a lake...take computer or typewriter with me..and lots of paper...and just write...and take walks and sit on the porch and 'listen'......

Ah, a break would be wonderful. I think mine would be so extensive, first a break from my daughters' problems, she wears me out more than anything. Then a break from memory of lost love. Just forget about all of it for the month. And this break would have to be spent on a private oceanfront area. I need alone, and the sound of the sea, I think that would do it.

lmao@ brian...that reminded me, most appropriately of an old Irish quote:

"If the ocean were whiskey
and I were a duck,
I'd dive to the bottom
and never come up!"

sigh...I would take a break from HERE...the miserable humidity of New Orleans...that is just kicking in, too. I would go someplace cool--someplace where the bars close sometimes--and the parties end before they start again...OH POOR ME!!!

I'd have to place my vote with Poet deVine.  But a toss up as to the cabin on the lake or a cottage on a deserted beach.      What a lovely thought.

Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Well, I just finished taking a month-long break from Passions.... and school just ended on Thursday.... and I haven't started work yet, but I will next week.... so... umm... I guess it would be HUMANS.

I would go to the middle of the desert, to a place where I can live confortably for a month's time, and be all by myself, do whatever I want with no one around for a month.  *sigh* Sounds nice to me.

All of my surroundings... I'm really restless... I want to go to a city and be able to lose myself in a crowd. I want to go to a place where people don't know what family I belong to, esc. I want to be a stranger somewhere!

Hmm..
My husband?     Seriously, I would take a break from all human contact, go deep deep into some wooded area, shut myself up in a cozy lil cabin with my computer, books, paper, pens, candles, etc..etc. I would write, sleep, eat, read, and never give a second thought to how things were progressing at home. Just for a month.

No question ... I'd love to go to my parents old cottage up in Muskoka, where I grew up in the summers as a child. All by myself ... there never was a phone, not even running water (and the outhouse was out back up the hill, LOL) The lake was called "Brandy" and I could swim from our dock to a little island, and sit up on the top there and just look out over everything ... it's where my mind still drifts to when things are just a little too hectic in this ol' life ... sigh ...

Thanks for my little trip this morning Sharon. I needed that.

How about the New Jersey Turnpike.  Now that's a road I'm glad I don't travel every day.
