If you could live in another time, when would it be?

Well, I like the time I live in the best. The internet is amazing.
BUT- I like the clothing and music and so on from the 40's and 50's.  Though I wouldn't want to have to go through the effects of the Depression and WWII and the Cold War and so on.
I think I'll go with the 60's and 70's though. From what the Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, etc portrayed-it was pretty cool. The clothes were all funky,  the music was legendary and the cars were bad as hell.

Marshalzu: is that really a 'time' per se? I mean yes technically it is..but still..

anywho - Sandra...I'd have to say Ancient Egypt...I'd be a female scriber...I would force them to let me be one.

wow, interesting, I would like to check out ancient Egypt too. But truly, I think I belong in the 1890's. Though the 1970's were very cool too. My best time in this life.
Sharon, I would be holy terrified to see what is happening in 100 years.

Sandra in 3001:

The words hate, war, crime, abuse, bigotry, prejudice and violence have been eliminated from the vocabulary due to the fact that they are never used.

Computers do not rule us, we rule them.

Poetry is taught in all the schools as a 'most revered' subject.

Late 194O, I would trvel between England and America. Meet up with Dlyan Thomas, talk about poetry. Then i would hang out with George Orwell, and Sylvia Plath  and get her to give me some poetry lessons. I would also visit Vladimir Nabokov, hang out with all the other famous poets and writers. Then start my own poetry movement or join one.

I like your ideas, Brian. I would like to do all those things too. I have too many places I would like to be, none of which are now!

Actually, 3001 is in another 1000 years, not 100. If I live that long, I'd be 1019. Man, that's old.

Time....I don't know when. Maybe the 1840s and travel the Oregon Trail. Or maybe the 1970s and be a flower child. Then there's the early 1900s, the Roaring 20s, and the 40s.....I don't think I could pick just one era! They're all too interesting!

Oh DUH, 1000 years, not 100. Blank brain freeze there. Yeah, guess I won't try to live that long, unless its in a new body!

Brian,

One slight problem with that scenario. Sylvia Plath was eight years old in 1940.

10yrs in the future.
I like the past and all, but I don't think I'd want to see any of it.
The future.....I'd like to go 10yrs in the future to see myself. Just analyze what I've done right or wrong and them come back to present day to see if I can better myself.
