Exclude any pet peeves you may have here at the forums...

What are your pet peeves?

One of mine is: I hate it when people try to drive and talk on their phone at the same time! If you want to make a call, pull over and do it!

there..your turn!

Got a couple:

1) People who repeat themselves over and over again...usually within the space of a few minutes.

2) People who have *long* verbal pauses.

3) People who speak loud and slow when I can't quite hear them.

Now, there is this guy I work with who does all 3...this is a test for me, I just know it...2 months so far and I haven't yet throttled him...yet...

Alicat

Oh yeah...just remembered one...but it's a small one: People who use the phrase, "In my humble opinion...". There is no such thing as a humble opinion. Kinda like saying I am more humble than you are...

One little pet peeve that annoys me to HELL:

People on the bus who stand up before it stops.

I have tried to analyse this from every angle.
It's so illogical! WHY DO THIS?
All of the people who stand up first risk getting knocked over due to the lurching of the bus!
I've found that when on a bus, unless you're with someone, you dissolve into your own little 'bus world' and this is the accepted thing, this is what makes for happy bus travelling. People who stand up, draw undue attention to themselves and upset the 'bus world' equilibrium. I'm serious!!!
It's fascinating, and utterly annoying...

-people who think they're *better* than everybody else

-know-it-alls

-people who talk with a mouth full of food (yuck)

-people who blow their nose in public

-people who call me on the phone to "chat" and don't respect the fact that I am working and my office is in my house.... assuming that if I'm home, I must be just hanging out and doing nothing

there's several more, i'm sure.

Pet peeves... hmmmm.....

1) Being interrupted.

2) People not understanding that I am mostly always right.

3) Reduntant people who repeat themselves, again and again and again.

4) Those damn hyperbolic elipses.....

5) People who have to find things to be irritated about.

BTW - what is wrong with yellow cars? My car happens to be 'road sign yellow' lovely machine....

Bumber sticker of the month: I wonder if you would drive better with that cell phone up your butt.

1. Misspelled words, e.g., ellipses [see above, LOL]...[Sorry JP, couldn't resist...]

2. Run-on sentences.

3. People who have "been there, done that" 20 times better [with a point of exaggeration] and usually only express this to you at your highest and/or darkest time...[love those ellipses...] only to take away from you what ecstascy/sympathy you may have garnered or needed...

4. There's more, probably, but I cannot think of them today...

OK, ok. I had to come back! I read these and just couldn't think of anything to add until...I got this phone call today. You know the sales pitch will you switch your long distance? You politely tell them no, and they keep going. That irritates me! They won't take no for an answer. How do you politely hang up on someone? I don't know but I did it anyway! Ok, that's it for now!

Oh, I've got another one!

Anyone who has witnessed this knows exactly what I'm talking about.

When someone tries to physically threaten you by lunging at you with arms drawn back like a chickens wings.....WHY? I mean apparently a chicken has possesed their bodies so as to take revenge on all the people who have eaten a McNugget...oh wait, those aren't chicken....anyone who's eaten at KFC.....Maybe that's why these people are ready to fight at the drop of a dime too!

Just add the number one thing for me~~~
INSURANCE COMPANIES.

There is nothing I despise more than thieves and insurance companies are nothing but incorporated thieves with lawyers on the payroll. Uh...oops...heheheh. Didn't mean to get on a soapbox

Bye now (slinks away quietly)

gesh! I have a million of them.

messes (the ones I can stand are mine)

people who have no balls to say what they really feel.

people who can't make up their damn minds

hehehe I'm sure we all know about me and those airport religious fanatics (see "you people piss me off!!!" in the alley posted by me.)

and then their are those people who think cruising the strip is a national pastime (what could be more pointless than driving over the same road you did half an hour at less than 10 miles an hour?)

SLOW DRIVERS!!!!

ELDERLY DRIVERS!!!!

WOMEN DRIVERS!!!

women drivers who put on makeup in the car!

people who "ride someone's ass" while driving.

I'll go ahead and quit venting now hehe. feels good though. =-)

Pet Peeves? I probably got a bazillion of 'em. Here are just a few.

1) Women who wait to get in the car to put on make-up.
2)Cell phones in a romantic restaurant. (this really destroys the mood)
3) Typos in the paper or on T.V. commercials.
(These people are supposed to be educated)
4) My son's bedroom (we call it the war-zone)
5) People who abbreviate Christmas as Xmas
6) And due to the upcoming holidays, people who insist on getting their Halloween decorations up in Sept. Their Thanksgiving stuff up in Mid Oct. and their Christmas stuff up by Nov. 1st.(These are probably the same people who are late for everything else)

There are lots more but these are really bugging me at the present time.

Question for Doreen--what happens if you're in public and you need to blow your nose? Are you just supposed to let it drip (I know that's gross, but...)?

Desperado~~~ WOMEN DRIVERS? You'd be hard pressed to find fault with my driving ability. I have NEVER had a ticket, NEVER caused an accident, NEVER had an accident that was my fault (though a MAN plowed into the side of my car...he "just didn't see me" he said). I NEVER put on make-up while driving, and if my phone rings, I just don't answer it if I'm driving.
Also, I loaned my car to a MAN who wrapped it around a utility pole that night. The same MAN whose license was later suspended as an habitual offender. My father had three accidents (two his fault) within 3 months.

:>)~~~~~~~phhhhhtttttt!

You'd have saved yourself this little rant by stating that you don't like CARELESS DRIVERS!

*~LOL~*

Dirt roads are my forte...care to take a ride? heheheheh

Pet Peeve

Poeple who groom themselves in public.
I'm talking about brushing hair, blowing nose, ect.
I remember a woman clipping her FINGERNAILS
at the counter of a clothing store......and just leaving the clippings on the counter.
Gross!
