Ahaaa!

Nan just broke it! (Should she win a prize or something for this?)

The question, of course, is what did Nan do differently than everyone else? She edited her post. She also (I think) used the formatting options (or did you write the HTML yourself, Nan?).

Okay, I've reset the Email Notification. Let's try a test. Someone please post, then go back in and immediately edit your post. Do not format or add HTML (we'll test that separately).

We just might be onto something here, guys...

p.s. RainbowGirl, good suggestion! But, uh, you lost your bet.

I should have guessed.  Of all the people, only Nan would succeed where others have failed.

Being a pendantic so and so, I'll ask which bet? The one where you'd have no mail notification or your undivided attention...LOL, I'm kidding, it's obviously the bet...ooops..

So, having made an error, I'll edit and change it....I'm determined to sleep with a smile..

HUGS

Perhaps the forum doesn't like shouting? Nan was quite loud there! I covered my ears!!!

Later that same day: Poet deVine relaxes by the computer..waiting for the guru of poetry to figure out this conundrum...(that's a puzzle that is safe to ponder - for you non-dictionarians!)

Well, it appears the conundrum has been conundered (you laughing yet, RG?).

I received notification of RG's post, then she edited it. I did not receive notification of PdV's post. Ergo, the email notification is getting zapped when someone (other than the original poster) edits. It's no darn wonder I could never get it to fail during my tests!

Okay, that doesn't solve the problem, but it does give us two possible solutions. One, I can dig into the code and find where it's happening. Now that I know what is happening I have some idea where to look. Personally, however, I like the second solution better. If everyone would quit making mistakes and editing, the problem would obviously go away! (You laughing yet, RG?)

Thanks for the help!!!!

Ruth! Didn't you see "How to Marry a Multi Millionaire"!!???  Please do not do that!! It was the worst display of greed I've ever seen...he wanted her because she was cute.. she wanted him because he was rich..I say they shouldn't be allowed to have that marriage annulled! Chain them together..they deserve each other...

Have I digressed?

I would say both got exactly what they wanted.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts had exactly the same relationship in Pretty Woman. They were just a bit more honest about it...

I cringed when those 5 women paraded themselves around in wedding dresses! I watched it for moments at a time..and once the jerk 'chose the winner' and I realized they were going to actually be married on TV only minutes after meeting, I turned it off...

I bet they book themselves on the Jerry Springer show for the divorce!

When I edited my post, the notifications quit coming so I'd have to go back in edit and check the email again. Grrr...Well, we can all try not to make any mistakes. hehe

We need one big EDIT button for life. Or was Alwaye said it, where's the pause button? I wanna put my life on pause!

Well, Ron ..... Marge is here, where she almost NEVER goes because she doesn't like to rant and rave in public ... but having been duly challenged, I'll give it my best shot.

I wish you had sent me an e-mail to let me know you were posting this .... I could probably have busted your chops before Nan did !  LOL !

You might also try going in and doing the PREVIEW thingie ... also the edit can't always be the reason for Marge, because she usually corrects MOST mistakes/typos/format in the PREVIEW stage ... then she goes back out and checks the appropriate little boxes, one of which is for e-mail notification and then submits.

Hope it helps to know that Marge's still dropped notifications as late as yesterday.

Are we having fun yet?  Thanks, Ron.
