To share my thoughts, views, and feelings!
To get feed back on what others thoughts might be is a plus.

To share my thoughts and feelings with other like-minded individuals.

To help me become a better writer, poet, and person.

To encourage others to follow their heart and help them to become better poets, writers, and people.

To engage in stimulating discussions!  (like this one!!)

To make new friends (like you deVine!!)

And too many other reasons to list!!!!  I love this place!!

Because I feel accepted here. I am not by nature a very social creature and tend to stay to myself. Because there is no preconceived predjudices to muck things up, like weight, looks, race, etc. just poetry, I have a chance to feel somewhat comfortable with the people I encounter and I hope that they feel comfortable with me. I am essentially shy (though I put up a great show of bravado) and this medium of communication helps me to be able to make friends with people I feel I have a little something in common with. I tried chat rooms but alot of times there is no common ground. Sometimes we disagree and argue here but I feel like it's a family. You can't get that anywhere else on the 'Net.

Sorry I got so long winded....

Well, there are several reasons I post here. I have so many great friends here, and I want to share with them as they share with me. I also want some advice on my poetry, because I'm still a young poet. But I think the biggest reason I post here is because I don't have to be embarrassed about writing. I keep the fact that I write from my family, and only a few close friends know that I write, and they tease me about it sometimes.

So, there's why I post here at Passions.

I really post my poetry to share my feelings on life and it's different situations with others.

Sometimes my poetry is my 'reality'.
Sometimes it's someone else's 'reality'.

Funny ... my first or second night of posting my poetry here ... I posted a poem that had been a real 'winner' on another site.  I had received 179 responses in my e-mail on it from another site.  It was the Poem of the Day on that other site.  It was the Poem of the Month on that other site.
I still laugh ... it got ONE reply here ... and GUESS WHO IT WAS FROM ?
Yup ... our 'angel' Denise.

The fun and camraderie is a perk that is one of the nicest things to happen to me.
I enjoy the inspiration and the positive feedback.  I call it 'instant gratification'.
Not for my ego ... I have no self-esteem lack.  But for knowing that my thoughts reached and touched or perhaps inspired someone else.

If I didn't have this wonderful place ...
I'd still write ... I just would look silly standing on the street corner reading it out loud to passersby.

As a poet who enjoys reading the works of others 'almost' as much as I enjoy writing,
I've come to know a mecca of talent here.
The friendships are lasting.

Did I mention that I just like it?
Well .... I do !

I post here because I feel accepted here. People don't make fun of my poetry and feelings. They are compassionate and understanding people. I enjoy sharing my poetry with you guys cos no one puts me down or tells me its crap....they find something encouraging and caring to say, inspiring or uplifting. It's like a huge family to me...no family is perfect, there has to be some quirks and flaws but over all that's ok, in the end the solid fact is that we share a mutual love of poetry and a mutual love and respect for one another. We may disagree but that's ok too, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion....no one tries to change that. I love this place cos it is welcoming no matter how you look and stuff like that. There is no prejudice of weight, race, age, height, popularity. Everyone here is willing to put that aside and get down to the important business of loving each other, encouraging each other and being there for each other. I have learnt so much from this site that I will be able to apply to "real life" soon enough. I could list everything but I would like drown the thread!! Guys, we may have our problems like any other family but we can work through them. Just don't forget what is important: poetry and the people who post it!! All of us!!

And now, I am going to post a challenge in the open forum....only check it out if you wanna have fun and LOL!!!!!

Love and hugs to every single one of you!!!

I post poetry here (when that miracle happens) to release the day's thoughts or to resolve conflict within myself.

I post poetry here to share myself with some very wonderful people, and excellent friends.

I post my poetry here to see how my life relates to others lives.

I post my poetry here to provide hope when I can or when the time calls for it.

I post my poetry here to gain mature and open minded opinions of my writing and thoughts.

I post my poetry here because it is a secure and wonderful place filled with a melting pot of different poets of many different natures and beliefs.

I post my poetry here because it is my home in many ways.

I post my poetry here because it is fun.

Ahh..How do I love to post my poetry here..Let me count the ways..

Is this enough reason?
Thanks for the question Devine. I enjoyed responding to this.

purely for the swoon affect. Someone's got to do it. All those wonderful sighs! Very very addicting. They swoon therefor I am.
Just to clairify this. I love to write romantic poetry, and I ususally have a certain muse in mind. When I get alot of very good responses from other women, it sure makes it more worthwhile. Its a wonderful feeling to put a smile on somebody's face or sigh.

At the risk of sounding 'elitest', I post here, because this place that Ron created is by far the BEST on the Internet.  He built it; ergo, I'm here.

Also, this was the first 'serious' place I ever had something published...on the main site back in Feb. of last year.  And then visiting the forums that were there at the time: Feelings and Discussion.  That was it!

Then came Old Blue....May it Rest in Peace.

Then he made this area...only had a few forums up..maybe 5 total.  Whoa...look at it now...only 10 months old....Ron created it, but the members made it what it is today.  Keep up the good work, ya'll.  And if you have ANY suggestions on how this site or other areas at PiP can be enhanced, don't hesitate to drop an idea in the Suggestion Box.

Because it's the one place where I can show my heart and soul and I'm not condemed for it and also where I can write a "sad" poem and not have to explain why.

I post here because I feel a need to purge out the feelings of my soul and to have others understand those feelings.

I post here because I'm not looked down upon for some of my deeper, more melancholy, more saddened thoughts.

I post here because it's my family and I want to be involved.

I post here because I care about this place and the people in it and I want to make a difference.

I post here to hide from the real world sometimes and get lost within the beautiful words of others.

And I post here because I'm a Passions Addict!

For feedback and learning how to write poetry.  I only started to write poetry three months ago, so any feedback postitive or negitive is good for me.  I also enjoy the new friends I have made here and the knowledge from others.
