Who has or has had braces?????? I've had them for about 8 years or so and they just keep finding new excuses to keep me going there. I've had retainers for a year now and they told me today in different words that I will be there for the forseeable future. I think they just keep me there for the money. Everytime they make me get a new retainer they get 850 pula out of it. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of orthodontics! I HATE them. I wish I could tell em to stuff their silly braces. Then, every time I am there I generally wait for at least an hour if not more for a ten or fifteen minute appointment. What a waste of time!!!! Anyway, I know this is of no interest to you....just needed somewhere to vent my frustration with the whole s***** thing! Thanks for listening! Love and hugs, Lizzie  |

I know where you're coming from! I had work done on my jaw for about a year to fit it for the braces, so first I wore a retainer and a wire, then an expander that fitted on the top of my mouth and got in the way of my tongue so I couldn't talk (this really sucked! I got made fun of all the time by my kind-hearted classmates), then another retainer, and then I finally got my braces on (big prize!). The braces were supposed to stay on for about a year, but didn't come off til two years later. I also had to wear the rubber bands, which had to be changed about three times a day. So, Lizzie, I don't blame you for wanting to scream--there were so many times I felt like it myself. But they can't stay on forever.
