Pity: Sympathy and sorrow aroused by the misfortune or suffering of another.

Ok..here we go..time to rid yourselves of all that pentup pity purporting to perpetuate platitudinal pleasures!

Sven started a thread in Feelings about what we think is lovable about ourselves..I can't think of one durn thing!!! (don't tell me cause I won't believe you and besides this is a pity party - you have to moan and groan!!)

Want some cheese with that whine?

Today, I took all the personal items off my desk at work. This is a bad sign...

I have to work on Saturday...it's quiet and that means I'll get some work done, but I don't see anyone else doing it!!

Woe is me! (have some pity on me ok guys!)

Sunny's here...what's up, PdV, besides the usual employment problems!? I cannot envision a reason to rid your desk of personal possessions other than you're getting ready to make an exit too - or was it mandated by the higher-ups?

Gads! I hate to rain on the pity-party [I've had my days, too] but the office is an extension of my home, and me! I want folks to know that a real live person lives there, not just some neutrally-warm body! I want to place my stamp on it, and show them that there is longevity in MY decision to work WITH them.  But luckily, fortunately, and thank God, I have a boss that treats me that way...I work WITH him, not for him. Blows the others [atty and staff members] away!

So, PdV, here's a huge {{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}} for you m'dear...and unload on me anytime you feel like it...my shoulders are broader than you would think.

Now, I'll go looking for something to pity myself for [I won't have to look too far... but on the other hand, there are corners of my house I'd just as soon NOT occupy, if you know what I mean!]< !signature-->

PdV - Ahhhhhhh a party, and the kind I host often.....and well, I might add. Nothing better than a good dose of self pity every now and then to clear the sinuses.  Cheer up, could be another Tupperware party you're going to.  Hope the sun's shining again for you soon.  Bonnie

Awww! Pity potty? I sit on one of those too once in a while. Probably more than I should.

But hey, Sharon, if you took those things off, I know you're closer to the not any more stage. So pity on for a while and here's a big *HUG* from me

I also read Sven's post in Feelings, and I couldn't think of anything, either!
(But I know that you have lots of great and lovable things about you, PDV! You're just tooooo modest!)

So, is this a kind of venting session? I need to do some of that right now. This has been a bad week for me and guys.

1- The exchange student whom I love went back to Europe
2- The guy that I thought might actually work out... well, didn't
3- My favorite Backsteet Boy got married!!!!!

OK, I shall now take out my sadness and rage on the keyboard!

GOD, that felt good!
Try it, everyone!

K, Lovebug lets see if this works...

Well, it's nice but it doesn't really help either one of us considering your exchange student lives in the same town I do, Eugene!!  And the Man I want is back in Alaska!!  We do have a problem here!! LOL
Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!!  PDV can I get some cheese please????

Pity?  What's that?

If I ever let myself induldge in self-pity, I am sure it would be a long, one way, trip to oblivion.  Could you imagine if I started mulling over all the things I have to feel sorry for myself about   ?

But hey!  My own refusal to induldge does not impair my capacity for compassion.  I feel for you PdV, I am here to be wallowed upon in your hour of need (actually that sounds like fun   )

ROFL....Oh poor Sharon, I'll give you huge HUSG and your puttycat can teach my Snoops about the facts of life cause he doesn't know, unless you count his adventures with my socks...LOL

Personal stuff still put away or have things got better?  I guess you should start listening to your inner feelings, we all know deep inside when enough is enough but sometimes we just need a push in the right direction....so tell me how many jobs currently would you love to do and that you think you stand a 50% chance in getting?

If I ever got to feeling like you do I would set myself up with some interviews just to see how they went and I always ended up feeling better and with better prospects as well...my favourite cheeky answer to "tell me why I should employ you?" is "cause I'm the best you'll ever get !!"....Always works as well...but maybe it's cause I don't care whether I get it or not....reverse psycology??

Oooops...I've rambled again....sooorrrry...*g*

Maybe it's a midlife crisis! But lately I've been thinking it would be great not to have ANY responsiblities! Buy myself a van and just travel around the country. Work when I need to...stay as long or as little as I want to in any given place.....I've been watching the BBS show "1900 House"..(I know it happened last year!)..and it's amazing how much work a woman had to do then! Maybe I should count my lucky stars it doesn't take 12 hours to do a load of laundry!

I don't know maybe pity is a bad thing?  It only causes my problems, andd sometimes it's hard to get out of the pity once you are submerged in it!!!
Group *hhuuugggsss* and then venting, and then hopefully we'll all feel a little better

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....
