Here's a good one...Stuart's Draft, VA
The only draft around here brings a whiff of manure.  Say, maybe that's Stuart's field being fertilized!
LOL!

I don't know about towns, but I once visited a town in Texas to deliver something and the street signs were.

This Way
That Way
Wrong Way
Other Way
God's Way (that one led to a Church)

The directions they gave me were... "take This Way, to That way...then you take Other Way to ...

Well you get the idea..

Two tourists were driving through Louisiana. As they approached Natchitoches, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town. They argued back and forth until they finally stopped for lunch. As they stood at the counter, one tourist asked the blonde employee, "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are . . . very slowly?"

The blonde girl leaned over the counter and said,"Burrrrrrrr, gerrrrrrr, Kiiiiing."

LOL

We have a similar argument over the pronunciation of a nearby village called Leonidas. Our weather reporters on the local radio pronounce it phonetically, with a long "e" and a long "i" (Le-on-i-das). The residents, however, pronounce it with a silent "i" (Le-on-das).

Unfortunately, I doubt the argument will be so easily settled - there are no fast food chains there.

Well, everytime I pass through the beautiful state of Arkansas, which is where I'm from btw, I get a chuckle from this place they call, "Toad Suck Park."  I'm not sure where that came from, but it's like a national forest I think...?  Uh...I'm gonna leave the name alone though methinks.  My mind always tends to get a little carried away, you know me!     It's funny though...TOAD SUCK PARK.

LOL at those names!!!
There are a few weird ones over here in the UK too but I think the names are too ancient to trace.
There is one place called Pratt's Bottom (Pratt meaning idiot), another called Peas Pottage (pottage as in soup) and one island off Scotland called Lewis With Harris. And let us not forget the weird and wonderful names that can be found all over Wales, such as Andypandy, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanymddyfry, Y Rhws, Llanwrtyd Wells, Ty Rhiw, Cefin Cribbwr, Cwmavon, as well as just Cwm (no I didn't forget a vowel in any of them but maybe they did LOL) and many many more. As for the pronounciation... well I was told it can only be achieved with a lot of phlegm in the throat EWWW LOL.

Guys:

For those of you who wonder how my mind got so screwed up ... check out a few names courtesy of my home county, Lancaster, PA:

Mount Joy is no Paradise but Intercourse is fun (but if you blink you'll miss it and end up in Bird-in-Hand which is just down the road from Blue Ball, lol ... all very real towns, btw).  Just a sampling.

Okay, a few points to ponder for you Michiganders:  Michigan is damn cold in the winter and has big bugs the rest of the time.
'nuff said....

Let me ask this.... how many states are there without a place called "Burns"?

Here's a few strange ones:

Truth or Consequences, NM (renamed after the game show - originally was "Hatch" - big improvement, eh?)

Any town in Hawaii
Boonville, CA
Yreka, CA (Not Eureka, that is another place down the road)

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.
