I'm truly amazed at how many posts there are here at Passions (god I love the : p for Passions), anyway...  a lot of posts bashing men, talking about how bad they are, useless etc... it seems to me that too many of the women out there have made poor choices for partners and rather than acknowledge that it was their own shortsightedness that caused them the pain, they blame men for their suffering.  Seems the easy, politically correct scapegoat route....

THEN we have the 'ultra sensitive' males around here, who perpetuate the myth of mankind's neanderthal behavior, by claiming they are different than most men, and "yes it is true, most men aren't as sensitive as I...", if that wasn't bad enough, we have the others who feel it necessary to defend the not guilty.

"Men are pigs"
"Oh, that's not fair, not all men are pigs"

I just sick and tired of males feeling like they have to defend themselves for being men.

Y'know JP, you are absolutely right.  It's true, I did make a poor choice.  Please understand that I do not mean I made a poor choice of a human being.  I made a poor choice of my partner.  And truth be told, he
deserves better too.  Would that we could "call it a day" before we end up hating each other for the crime of being ourselves.  So let me take this opportunity to state that my writing is simply an expression of my personal situation--never intended to be a blanket statement of the value of men in general.  Most of my "dark" writing is really just my childish reaction to not feeling loved back.  (Is there an adult reaction to that?)  I apologize if I was unclear at any time.  I love men.  I think men are a marvel of biological engineering.  I look at men and think, "the Creator is a genius..."

Yep, She really knew what She was doing...

The great question . . . which I have not been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is `What
     does a woman want?'
Sigmund Freud, Quoted in Charles Rolo, Psychiatry in American Life

and on the much lighter side:
If women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning.
     Aristotle

Alas! the love of women! it is known / To be a lovely and a fearful thing.
George Gordon, Lord Byron, Don Juan, II. 199

Okay. . .

I'm a man. . .

I like hockey
I like the symphony
I loved Titanic
I loved Terminator and any Jackie Chan movie
I like Jewel
I like AC/DC
I like wine
I like beer

So, what does that make me?  Does it make me "Ultra-sensitive"?  Does it make me a "Man's man"?  Or. . . does it make me what we would so lovingly call. . . a "Freak of Nature"?  LOL

Can't a man balance both?

Thanks!!  You do bring up some great points. . .

Jamie...

what does a woman want???
A man who'll go find her quotes like that
to try to understand her

*sigh*
God I just love poets. (giggles)

OK...im not even gonna get in this debate..
cause we will all never agree...
WE ARENT SUPPOSE TO...

you know its that planet thing...
Men are from Mars ...
Women are from Venus...OR WHATEVER

Besides there is enough "bashing" from BOTH SEXES going on in here..

and should we even call it "bashing"...
isnt it really broken hearted poets(both men and women poets) voicing
their pain...
Isnt that what poets do best?

did i not just say I was not gonna get in this...LOL

As for what a woman wants....
well I wont presume to speak for all women
but all THIS woman wants
is a man who'll love her back the same
way she loves him...COMPLETELY

*sigh*  *seems so simple*

ok im done now.....
I'm headed back to my planet...
love ya poets...ALL OF YA...yes even you JP

Defending yourself for being a man....Man or
woman a few bad expierences often spoil the
view for SOME...sad how that happens. I
think the majority of people though hold
each person as an individual and let their
heart and actions speak for them.  Just
being a MAN doesn't make you an insensitive
lug....you can do that no matter what planet
you're from!! (mind you the "you" is not
YOU...just the "you's" in general...ah did that make sense?)....I could
follow J.M.'s lead here and say what I want
in a partner.....but my wish list is not so
simple   Your vent has been heard J.P.

Perhaps if we just refrained from people bashing????--- of course life could get pretty boring if you were polite ALL the time.
Maybe remember this twist of one of the golden rules--- Do unto others as they would have you do unto them..... after all you might not like me doing to you what i like done to me...lol< !signature-->

only one way to find out jamie LOL

good point about not bashing at all...
in a perfect world I guess...where no one gets their heart broken...
but I suspect there would be a lot less poets if that was the case...
what ever would we write about....*smile*

What do women want? the answer is simple my friends.
they all want something different. 17 years and many ex-gal-pals later, i bring before you this wisdom.

oh and men are pigs. i hope i never become one.

what i meant was, i hope i never become a pig. a pig. never become a PIG. that's what i meant. not a pig.< !signature-->

Sounds like a revolution is starting, battle of the Sexes. I could be in trouble if it comes to taking sides after my "deconstructing eve" and candy heart poems. Well if some one pays for my sex change I will join the forces of the women. LOL. To hell with it I am remaining passive, though the chance to wear make up and a dress does sound tempting. lol
