I'm packing up the RV
Heading out of town
Gonna pick up Becky
'cause she's feelin a little down!

Ok..boys and girls..we are on a road trip..where is the best place to:

EAT: (your favorite restaurant)

SWIM:

STAY: (B & B, hotel, spa, resort)

If you were on a road trip in an RV (Ron don't answer!) how would you alleviate boredom as you drove around the country?

Ok..let's talk!

I saw a show not too long about about the best hot dogs in the country..Nathans in New York was up there on the list...I don't think I have a 'favorite' place for something to eat...I don't travel that much so it would probably be here...

Crabtree's Kitchen's, my old place of employment was yummy, but *sob* they're closed so I have to say the Old Log Cabin.. mmmm.. food... Anyways...

Swim? Hmm, interesting one.. Pool hotels are usually not too great, I like Krista's pool, my own, and my neighbors... and the big big wavepools!

Resort? I don't know... I don't do too much traveling, but I loved the condo we stayed in on Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, very very cool.. and an old favorite is Timber Wolf Lodge in Ely Minnesota, but that's getting old..

Boredom? Can you see Game Boy? LOL, Or my obscure and fun Neo Geo Pocket Color, LOLOL, I'm a gadget boy, but they'll never beat good company, and I think you Passionate poets would make great company!

Is this the.. umm... alternative resource.. fueled RV?

Ok, off to New York it is...
Then we'll hop over to Colorado to a place called the Golden Coral! Excellent food there! Cheap, but big buffet of all homemade foods. Anything you can think of in a wide variety! Wish we had one out here

Funny you should ask... When I was at the library recently, I found a flyer that said..NATIONAL POETRY SLAM TOUR - Falmouth Public Library - Noon Procession from Surf Drive Beach - Ends at the Library Lawn... Touring America on their way to the 2000 National Poetry Slam...

Needless to say, I had to go see this phenomenon - and school is out (I'm dangerous now) - So I went over to investigate...

This was a busload of poets - from all over the USA (and one Canadian)... They were on their last stop of a thirty day tour that covered 8000 miles and a multitude of poetry readings (performances) - They were all novices - just like us - They had a fantastic time on the bus (normally a sub-human experience) - and they were headed to Providence for the national poetry championships... Oh... and BTW... They were selling their own chap "books" after their performances....

Geesh... Someone else has thought of it too...

What a plan, eh??? Some of the people had signed on midway - others had been on the tour since the onset... um... how many people can't plan a thirty day (or less) excursion months ahead of time...
