What the heck?! I was just thinking of that favorite childhood game, "Duck, Duck, Grey Duck!" And am now frustrated at all you strange, disturbed people out there who play, "Duck, Duck, GOOSE!" It's just not right!

Where's the fun of the "Duck, duck, blue duck! duck duck, white duck!" and going through your growing list of colors? PEOPLE! Tell me why would you play duck duck goose? it's just not right, all these kids are going to be traumitized and colorless!

Geese everywhere will be forever seperated and have wounded self esteem! Stop the insanity, stop the pain! Teach your children the correct game! Teach them the power of duck duck grey duck and the evil of duck duck goose!

ROCK ON MY DEAR!!!    Duck duck gray duck is the ONLY way to go!  Duck duck goose is rather pointless if you think about it...it serves no educational purpose, while duck duck gray duck is a wonderful way to learn all the colors of the rainbow!  So, long live DUCK DUCK GRAY DUCK!

I agree with ERIN on this one bud~ I played Duck,Duck, GOOSE all my childhood years and I am CERTAINLY NOT traumatized nor colorless. I am a very bright person actually. And i'm sorry that you're frustrated at me for playing the game the right way   Although there is no "right" way to any game, you know what i mean, right? Well nice opinion..a little odd..but nice.

I've never heard of "duck, duck, grey duck"! I've heard of duck duck, goose, but not that. But I didn't play either one when I was a kid... actually, I never played much of anything. I guess some things never change.

Gather 'round those of you who don't live in the US and let me tell you the tale of a childhood game....

All the children make a big circle, and one person is "it" he walks around the circle touching people's heads and going "Duck" with each one, when you get to the person you want to make "it" next, you say "GREY DUCK!" And run around the circle and back to the Grey Duck's spot, because he got up and chased you trying to catch you, if you get caught, you're still it... Grey duck makes much more sense, you can use surprise tactics by saying different colors, it's obvious! Grey duck is superior!!!

Why thankye Abe...

muchly enlightened here...

I, too, must wonder why and who introduced the 'goose' into a duck game...

Really - they could've made it something exotic like 'duck duck pelican' or 'duck duck African Dovetailed Parrot-Penguin'...

I'm not trying to say that there's no place for learning the colors in childhood development, but "Duck, Duck, Goose" is the ONLY game in town for me!  It is played in a fashion similar to the "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck" game, except the players don't sit in a circle.  Instead, when you see the person you want to tag, you wait until his/her back is turned then you yell, "DUCK, DUCK!!!"  When she ducks, that's when you Goose her!  Woo hoo - Now, you tell me; which game sounds more fun to you???  Incidently, in my game you tend to run a lot faster because getting caught can be a lot more painful!

and why would it hurt, so, Michael? I mean, if you catch someone, sometimes...well, isn't that why it's called, ahem, duck, duck, goose?
