Like all good TV shows this one has been cancelled! Sorry..did it myself. Time to move on!

If you have seen the CBS series Survivor, you may know what I'm going to ask. If not, I'll explain.

You are going to be stranded on a deserted island for two months. You will have a supply of rice, dried fruit and canned vegetable to eat (this island doesn't have rats!)

Please chose 5 other Passions Members to be stranded with - and state the reason why you would choose them.

Oh, this is easy...

Ron  : Because he has the ability to tackle ANY problems that we may face

Sharon  : Because we have to have SOME fun on the island!

Abe & Krista : Come on, we have to start a revolution SOMETIME!

And last but not least...

Chris : Because I just couldn't go two months without seeing him in his little muscle shirt!

Hmmmm.... Well let's see...only 5? There's sooo many.

Ron for sure to tackle any problems that may arise. He seems to be quite good at putting things to right when in a sticky situation.

WhtDove...because she's great at looking at things from a fresh perspective and is very helpful and friendly.

Toerag...everybody needs a good laugh once in awhile and he can be the ultimate comedian.

Sven...what would life be without romance?

And last Christopher...gotta have someone to argue and debate with.

HE HE HE

you all must be kidding...

See who I would pick

The serious I... to quit laughing all the time
The funny I ... to quit complaining all the time
The cooking I ... to cook my food to survive
The cleaning I ... to clean self and tools of cooking etc.
The lazy I ... who else can give commands to the other 'I's
All of these 'I's with
the Me I... for without Me there is no I...

........ that is how it will be stranded all by myself else it is not stranding... is it?

now lets see who all will be there without invitation... by forces of nature itself...

Sunshine... for the sun has to shine ...
Moonchild for it nights follow the days...
Serenity, for left alone, I might just find time enough to be peaceful sitting under a palm tree drinky a syrup stronger than the strongest of alcohol... in the Jim Morrison haze...
Marge... for there will be the Indian spirit within me (I come from India, do I knot!)
Poet deVine will be there for the divine is everywhere...
Toerag could be there under my 10 toes unless first eaten up by piranha
and then there would be
butterflies, giving me hope for escaping with their freedom message...
Meadowmuse will be there with the grassy meadow...
Mark will be there in the distance marking the horizon...
Brian will be there maddening me having a  chat with the funny I...

well you get the idea, name one or all, and the entire passions family will be there...

but there will be Five 'I's alone with the ME I stranded ALONE in the 'I's-LAND...

...
ha ha ha ha

ha ha ha ha

don't you get serious with me, for I have firecrackers in my belly... oops wrong joke wrong time.. time to disappear...

regards,
HAVE FUN,
Sudhir

Then I can't go...because I definitely have more than five that I would not go without...

and they ALL know who they are!

Sigh.

Ok..shh..don't breathe a word of this...I would like all of you to invite a newbie over to this thread! I thought the popularity of the Survivor show would interest some of them. So for the next few days as you are replying in any other forum, please reference this 'survivor' thread. Let's get everyone involved in the discussion forums!!

Thanks guys (and I'll post my 5 choices later - and it has to be only 5, that's part of the challenge of it! )

What a terribly hard question!!

Hmmm....

Let's see, I'd prolly choose:

Sharon:  Cause she's such a kind-hearted person, and she's also the Idea Lady!  This amazing gal can come up with the coolest ideas, so anytime there's a problem or we're all bored...Sharon's there to save the day!

Chris:  Comic relief.  He's actually really funny looking in person.    Okay, no seriously, cause he's a cool cat, a blast to hang out with, and *gasp*, I actually like his company.

XAngel:  Cause I know this fantastic girlie would find some way to sneak not only coffee on the island...but an espresso machine as well (AND find a place to plug it in!).

Sunshine:  Cause she has SUCH a sunny disposition!

and last, but certainly not least..

Ron:  I'm going to snag LoveBug's reason and also add that he's always as fair as he can possibly be.

Okay, that was hard!  I have so many others that I thought of as I was trying to come up with only 5.  I hate leaving people out, yanno?  I think that here at PiP, we have our own Passionate Survivor's Island! (Minus the rice, fruit, and veggies)

Shoot, I didn't watch this show...but the fact that I could have a bunch of REAL friends around me...too much to pass up. So instead of dropping them off as losers, here's my pick as winners:

OK, Day 1. Ron - as the creator, how could he not be first choice?

Day 2. Chris - I mean, a better devil's advocate? [Hey, even tho it's a tropical island, that doesn't mean life would be a bowl of cherries...]

Day 3. Marge, for spiritual relief...of the best kind...

Day 4. Gotta have a storyteller...for those long nights...and besides, if 'Deer doesn't deliver, we can always use the meat.

Day 5. Long John...in case 'Deer ends up as meat.

Now, with this plan, that means it's quite possible we're going to lose one...and the way I got it figured out, Marge and me are on the winning end of this schtick, so if I need an alternative, it would have to be:

heh heh heh...tune in tomorrow, folks...

Yep this is hard! Let's see...

Sharon, because she's just a great person and fun to be with!

Toe cause he's a barrel of laughs...

Michael (Darkness), cause well dang it, I just ain't seen him in a long time!!

Shawna cause she's wild and crazy

And we just couldn't leave Chris out, cause he's fun to pick on

At first I thought I’d do this challenge in poetic verse. Then thought better of it. I’m sure some of my answers will surprise you and the reasons may surprise you even more! So, I’m throwing caution to the wind and hoping I don’t loose any friends (especially those I chose as my 5!)

Here they are in alphabetical order:

Abe – since he’s so young, he should still have that ethic to respect and mind his elders (sad to say I am his elder!). So I’d ask him to get the firewood, maybe do some cooking (he works in a fast food restaurant – do I see RatTacos in my future?) He’s also a lot of fun – likes to stir up trouble and I think he’d fall in with any ‘wild scheme’ I would want to pull.

Chris – I can’t imagine being on this adventure without him! He makes me laugh and think and is such a genuinely nice guy that I’d miss him if I left him behind. And he’s so smart I’m sure he’d find a way to build a really secure shelter for us! He and Abe would keep me amused around the camp by telling great stories!

Craig – He’s an outdoors kind of guy and he could do the hunting and fishing. I wouldn’t even mind cleaning the stuff either! And though he tells everyone he can’t write, I know he can, and I’m sure he would be able to teach ME some stuff about poetry! And I’d like to sit and talk history with him by the campfire. He’s got an amazing mind and an incredible sense of humor!

Jamie – Prometheus – Being a fireman will come in handy around the camp (don’t’ forget your hose Jamie!). Besides if anyone gets hurt, Jamie is the guy to take care of us! (I bet I’ll need artificial resuscitation a LOT!) He is also an outdoorsman and could probably teach me a lot about the local flora and fauna so there would have to be lots of long walks into the jungle. And he’s a gardener and can do some carpentry – between him and Chris, I’m thinking I’ll be real cozy in a nice split-level hut!

Ron – Now did you think I wouldn’t include the fairest, nicest most incredible man I know? I would love to explore his – mind! And I’m sure HE would be the first to start a fire on the island! (And remember we have a fireman – so we’d be safe!) Ron has done so much in his life that I would love to sit and hear all his stories. And maybe some of his computer knowledge would rub off on me (note: rub against Ron many times to gain computer skill! LOL)

And that’s my list…gee! They’re all guys! Imagine that…at least I’ll have SOME chance of getting some sack time! (sleep that is! Whatever were you thinking!    )

Sharon! We know what you were thinking...

But after reading yours I have to say, I wasn't thinking much of surviving I guess.
At least I could laugh my butt off....even though I'd freeze and starve!
What better way to go than ROTFLMAO?

Roundin em up Sunshine! Get out of that A/C now and c'mon!!

First of all I should say that I did not watch any of the show whatsoever. That said, I think I would let everyone condemn 5 of the girls to be marooned with me rather than have them resent me for picking them....lol

Okay, this was fairly easy for me...First off...

Abrahm: He's my boyfriend and my best friend and I couldn't go on any adventure without him by my side!

Erica: What would I do without my moderator/world dominator friend!  We must work together with Abrahm and destroy Chris's ego-based illusions yanno...

Chris:  Whatever would I do without someone to be in constant battle with?  And I could always use Chris antics, because he keeps things awfully interestin...

Meadowmuse: Because she is a poetic Goddess in my eyes and I would relish every moment to learn from her.

And Finally...

Ron: Because everyone needs a great person and great leader around!

There are my choices!  And PS, what is the appeal of that show anyway?  I saw a couple episodes and just didn't get it...

Ok this episodes nominees are ....

Nan education- she could teach poetry workshops on the island and I'm sure I'd have time to learn many different forms of poetry

Lost Dreamer craftmanship (occupation? lol)- I'm sure she would come up with many island crafts to occupy our days

Ron Leadership - he always seems so level headed and gives well thought out answers and advice

Sven Romance- he always has such kind words for everyone and is a very caring person

Poet deVine Humor-Entertainment she always seems to find humor in things and can usually get people to follow along and join in the fun

IF ... it came to be ~
I'd choose to strand with me ~

Martie~
For her ability to fish.
And make hushpuppies !
Then she'd write about each day's adventure so we'd be able
to never forget it if we were eventually rescued.

Lil' Lizzie/ESP~
For that youthful enthusiasm that would
be necessary to keep our spirits up !

Karilea~
For we have done this before and survived,
so the skills are already in place.

Liz Santos~
For her tender mothering skills so necessary for survival.

And Balladeer~
Just cause he'd end up developing a
golf resort and then everyone would flock
to the island and we'd end up being rich and famous ! !
Really cause he lights my fire !

Curling around myself, thinking swiftly, I have thereby reached the following conslusionary listing of conspirators for this extended expidition:

Nurse Cratchett:  Hey, I need someone to dole out pills, chase me with a broom, and clean up my...accidentals.

Dr. Moose:  So that Nurse won't be too lonely.

Justin Clan: Yep, all of em, for ya see, I secretly believe the clan is made up of one person who has mastered the idea of time-travel, thereby appearing through multi-dimensional rifts simultaneously, giving the illusion of there being more than one.

The Artists: Michaelangelo, da Vinci, and van Gogh.  Hey, if Vegas can have Elvis impersonators, this island can have people with psychotic delusions of grandeur.

Lady in Red:  For those cold nights.  I need a lap to keep me warm, and she knows just where to scratch....*shivers in antici --------------------------------------------- pation*

The Wizard: And you know who you are, ya big robe wearing pointed hat headed silly.  How else is we gonna get butterfly nets, hugme jackets, herring daiquiris, pills, flying monkeys, easels, and body paint? And mice, oodles of mice....veritable generations of meeses.....he da MAN!

The cat grins.
Slowly the grin vanishes
Until only the cat remains.
DOH!

Ok a hard one but here goes, sorry to anyone I left out but all things considered would you really want to be stranded on a desert island with me, and to those I brought along. Tough, I need the company.

1. Janet Marie, for her uplifting poetry, gentle spirit and also there is no way her muse could run away on a desert island plus here she could focus on writing poetry.

2. Christopher, we need logic, wisdom and clarity so Chris brush up on those things..LOL. seriously if anyone could get us of the island it would be Christopher, and if he fails as a leader we can always use him as a raft. LOL

3. Doreen Peri, we need someone to write rescue messages and document our adventures, also I could observe her writing and discover her secret for writing, I know she has special poetry powers.

4. Sudhir, for general wisdom purposes and camp fire chats and poetry as well.

5. PoutPrincess, I need another dark soul to relate to. Besides I am a sucker for red heads. That last comment might start a few rumours stirring, sorry pout.

To anyone excluded from my list be grateful that I do not wish for you to be shipwrecked with me LOL and to those on my list sorry but I need the company, and sorry for crashing the boat and getting us stranded here. Please don't hate me...

OK. . . I've thought about this for a long time. . . so here goes. . .

deVine---Because she would keep things peaceful on the island and would have things running in top condition. . .

Claire---To keep our minds and hearts open on the long nights with her tales of wonder and fantasy. . . and to write out the script!

Sudhir---Because there has to be another guy to help hunt and fish and do all of the heavy lifting!!  And because there has to be at least two of us!

Sunshine---To give us all the tools that we will need to survive here. . . and show us how to use them. . . if there's anyone that can do it. . . she can. . .

Irie---I know that if there's a way to get around, across, or through a river or lake, Irie's the one to call. . . she can slosh through anything!!  She'd be our guide. . .

There you go. . . and now, I have one final comment. . .

Wildchild, if you think that you're going to put Christopher and I on the SAME island. . . we will each be needing our own side of that island!!!  LOL

I think it might be interesting to make this a "learning experience" - Let's make it an opportunity to spend some time with people we never would be likely to encounter elsewise... I'd like to make in an international event...

How about this - I - the token citizen of the USA - Passions time zone even.... become stranded with five folks from as many different cultures...

Severn - to teach me some Australian ways
Craig - to show this New Englander our Old English roots
Sudhir - to help me understand the thinking of the Mid-Easterners
Munda - to contribute the European ambience and
Marilyn - to remind me that Canadians are also Americans....

Ya Think???

Well lemme see....there are lots of people here I think are wonderful, and so going on 'friend-value' ratios, I will go from there...

1) is Nan, because I truly like her as a person, and her knowledge AMAZES me!

2) is Alicat because he was alot of fun in person, and he has this edgy personality that makes him fascinating to talk to.

3) is LngJnAg because he can be sensible and fun all at once. Now I LIKE this sailor!

4) is Lorelei54 because LJA needs his sweetie, and because her and I hit it off so well, that a stranding on an island would be great fun! (I have yet to redo my Living Room Lorelei...)

and last but not least....

5) is Balladeer because I adore him, and his poetry, and his silly funny ways!

I really had room for so many more people *sigh*, but these were my first thoughts.
*hugs*

So in theory, build me a fire, and I'll do the rest, provided Ron will climb the tree and get coconuts for milk for me to steam...

Sudir > imagination N resourcefullness

Mark > insightfullness N trust

Now, to be honest I see an outcome varying from the show orignally aired .. I wanted RUDI to win but out he got cast..

My outlook would be Balladeer forms the alliance taking hand of Marge and me .. Mark playing down the middle a friend to us three leaving charismatic Elizabeth N Sudir at the final tribal meet!  Oh goddie, we remaining three get to pose the deciding question to ask this galNguy... now who shall it be... LOL oh how sweet!

the 5 I'd take are .....

1) Kamla, well because she is my best friend and caring and amazing plusmy days would be boring without her.

2) Philip, my MP, my teacher, my dear dear freind. I'll need him there to protect me from that cute little kiwi that keeps hounding me about Aus.

3) Sharon, well with this devine lady I'm sure to get up to mischief with hehehehe Pulling pranks on everyone.

4) Jamie because he is a dear friend and sesitive and my BFF. And we'd all feel safe with him.

5) Walty well because he is wonderful and always cracks me up with his jokes and weird humour.

Thanks Sharon

All righty then.....

My choices seem to be... um... Take Severn along and learn about that long thin New place with a "Z" in it.... or..

Replace her with someone who knows about that big island near New Zealand... or..

Forget my idea altogether and just go on XAngel's trip - Hers sounds pretty good.. or... um..

I could find some magical place with a riverview in the backwoods of nowhere... and get stranded with some hermit who could use a big hug....WHASKOTL

I'll have to think about this one...

LOL

NZ, eh? I knew that, right??? ...

I'm truly surprised that, after all these posts, nobody else has brilliantly suggested that there be an alternate in case one of the five can't make the boat in time.  Naturally, I assume I'd be the alternate because of my rare gift for sensitivity.  If I am chosen as the alternate, I promise to bring along my special cookbook.  And, I promise that the island would never (and I mean NEVER) be overrun with kitties.  Cookbook?  Kitties?  Coincidence??  I think not.  Kitty Fricasee - yummy

Just the first five that popped into my head:

Brad & Christopher - need someone the debate with...

Nan, PdV - to balance out the philosophy with reality and love...

Debating about Ron or PoetFemmeFatal, Ron because he is god-like or PFF because of her romps in the Adult forum...  Okay, both of them.

What?  That's 6?  Okay, I'll stay home then and they can write me....

JMBouder, Isis, Satiate, Marge, Doreen, WhtDove, XAngel, Sunshine, Brian, Michael, Temptress, and about a dozen others....

This has to be one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made in my life! I almost chickened out and didn’t do it, it was so tough! But… so many of you surprised me (some more than others, though I won’t mention any names Karilea…*ahem*) Anyway, here’s my list…

First, I want to say that Ron would have been on my list if were not for two things. First, how in the world would anyone expect Passions to survive two whole months without him??? And secondly… because he’s a natural leader. And I want that spot! Hmmph!

  • Sharon - Aside from being a very close friend, Sharon has the best ideas in the world! And she has them all the time! How this woman does it, I don’t know. But I have yet to hear a bad idea come out her lips! So Sharon would be our answer to boredom and desperate situations. I’d imagine she’d probably come up with some way to get high-speed Internet access onto the island. And a woman that can do that… I want her on my team! Besides… she promised to be my pillow!

  • Nicole - Aside from being the one who promised to fund the trip in the first place (don’t try to deny it Nic…) She also promised to bake chocolate chip cookies. I’m not above bribery… Seriously, a better friend and nicer person would be hard to find. She has an amazing amount of patience when it comes to dealing with me and that’ll prove a virtue on the island… ‘cause I have zero patience. She’d be the one to keep me in line. (No, it’s ‘cause of the chocolate chip cookies…)

  • Abrahm - He’s da man. Quick (unless he’s been up all night playing games… which would be a moot point on a deserted island…) and witty and full of energy. Basically… Abe would be my lackey. Not really different from here. Seriously, Abe is a great guy, with a smart-alec ‘tude that shows he’s quick on his feet. Aside from the endless pranks we can pull on the others of our group, Abe will serve well as bait. If he’s quick enough, we can get more than one use out of him!

  • Karilea - Because she depends on me for everything and it would be nigh unto cruelty to leave her all by her lonesome. I don’t think she could survive long without me! Seriously, she’s another kind heart. But thrown in there is an acerbic wit (that I’m sure few have seen save me… she saves all the “good” stuff for me, I just know it!) And since she’s in the legal field, if we’re ever attacked by a tribe of cannibal pygmies, we can make her talk to them in lawyerese. I have no doubt that after a few moments of that, those poor islanders will be running (paddling) for their lives. (And if that doesn’t work... there’s still Abe.)

  • Kamla - Kamla, I have to take. Not because she’s also one of the best friends I have. Not because she’s incredibly intelligent and (sometimes) kind-hearted. Not because she would drive everyone batty asking silly questions about inconsequential things. Not because she’d complain day in and day out about the weather, the sleeping conditions, the food, lack of tea. Not because we’d probably end up eating her after a couple of days. No, none of that. I’d take Kamla because she’d kill me if I didn’t!

There are so many, I think I’ll just have to make the island retreat a regular thing. That way I can take different people each time!   Ok, so who wants to book the next trip…?

-Oh, and as much as I hate to say it… I have to agree with Sven.   That’s ok, I’ll take my own side of the island. With my luck, it’d be a beach resort with tons of people, good food and good booze. I’d probably end up forgetting about poor Sven there in the dirt, lost and lonely, trying his best, but still digging for worms.

ROTFLMAO Some people want me...some don't.  Good...for some of 'em! HEH HEH...

Chris, save all the good stuff for you? OK.

Still, going back to my original plan:  Everyone take 5, we'll have the whole ding-dang community there...

but wait!  We have yet to hear from.....

RON!!!

Christopher,
I know that it pained you to agree with me. . . about as much as it pained me to agree with you!!

But I do think that MY side of the island would be far more beautiful than your side. . . not to mention bigger! (Or so Wildchild says!!!)

So, go ahead and have your resort. . . I'll have the island's sunset. . . and that's all that I'll need. . .

ummhumm...I read the earlier post...and after I've been SO good and kind and sweet to you, and let you rip apart my lovely, lovely piece....here you are, treating me this way, in front of the whole crew...and I've even stood UP for you and told people HEY...he's not all THAT bad...

gads, you're a scoundrel...now, I'm going to take my lotion and my goodly rays of warming sun and spread them over the OTHER side of the island...

and then I'm going to talk to Sharon about having that voting dealie put into place where some unwanted folk can be jettisoned off the island...

Sheesh...am I too late?

*Shrug* here's my five anyway...

#1: Philip a.k.a Poertree a.k.a Sir P a.k.a Daft English Guy Who Wears Birds As His Main Fashion Accessory.

Now Philip is possessed with enough classic English grace that he could ensure any grotty old fire in the wilderness resonated with a comfy English Manor glow. I know for a fact he would find a way to smuggle his cat George along with him...as we are both cat freaks that would just be the 'cat's whiskers'. Really though he is such a nice guy there is no chance he could vote anyone but himself off...good plan K!

#2: Maree a.k.a Dark Angel a.k.a Angel of Light a.k.a She Who Comes From A Country Less Beautiful Than Mine (snicker)

Well, Maree would prove a perfect choice for any survivalist team - what with her kick-butt attitude...anyone annoys her and...PHEW! WATCHOUT! I think she would make a fine gatherer - nuts and berries for all! Mind you, for all her kick-butt attitude she is rather afraid of the creepies...and hence: my prime motivation. Entertainment! What could be more entertaining than chasing Maree through the wilds with a snake stuck on a stick!?

#3: Michael a.k.a Balladeer a.k.a 'deer a.k.a He Who Has Not Arrived yet in His Jet Yet To Pick Me Up

He soon will be though - none of this jumping off a raft and swimming to the island business...oh no - I shall be traveling in style. Also I imagine 'deer could relate quite a few juicy tales around the campfire. He is also well versed in saving me from the dangers of consumption. Excellent choice methinks...

#4: Sharon a.k.a Poet deVine a.k.a Mysterious Lady of the Netherworlds in Arizona.

Well - we need someone to keep us all alive! She's it! Hammocks would spring up out of sand from this lady's hands! Food would miraculously appear. (Wouldn't it Sharon???? Huh huh??) I am quite sure she would also think of many practical jokes to play on everyone but me. If ever there was a water shortage she could also provide valuable insight for survival, given her present home location...I do have doubts we could separate her from Bruce though...hear she's taken quite a fancy to him...

Right - got the team...let's go!

What?

Oh yeah

There's meant to be five. Right.

Nearly forgot.

#5: Christopher a.k.a oh so original Christopher a.k.a PITA a.k.a He Who Needs Taking Down Several Pegs And K's The Chick To Do It... (not really a title that last bit but doesn't it just sound goooooood.)

Hmmm. Uses for Chris? Throwing sand at him just to express frustration sounds like a good one. I am sure he could prove resourceful with the right motivation. (Here, Maree's kick-butt tactics could come in handy). All ponds would be covered over to avoid any Narcissis renditions on the part of C and surely with those little obstacles removed he would contribute well to the team. All joking aside (~cough~  ) Chris would be in charge of keeping the team's imaginative and intellectual spirit alive...and our sense of humour.

I can see now that with each vote Christopher and Sven can count on having at least one against them....i think we should let them be the last two on the island....and leave them there until they can learn to get along...roflmao

I'd HAVE to take:

Chic: My dear sis...haven't heard from her since I got hitched.

Rick: My dear husband..he isn't a member here...but I HAVE to take him! I'd get cold

Christopher: He's got a sense of humor...and he knows how to use it!

Sven: Because he can keep Chris in line

Karilea: Because she can keep both of them in line

That's my five. I'd have familiar faces, a warm place to sleep, and enough laughing for 2 months!

OK guys, pulling myself out of the dental chair, novocaine and every other drugs intact, just to tell you both - STRAIGHTEN UP! and play like good kids.  Geesh...are you both only children or what!  Now, to your corners or I'm going to do what my Mom did to me and my bro...moved all the furniture and let us have at it!  Of course we were 3 and 5 at the time...and by the time the first punches landed, we were crying and hugging each other...hey, that might not be a bad idea, if I can get in the middle! LOL! Now, with charismic arms around you both, back to the games!
