I have been reading some posts in here and it seems we need a boxing ring.  There seems to be an excess of testosterone around.  Maybe a few rounds in the ring, with the gloves on of course, would ease the flow.  Just a private ring is all that is needed.  Just a thought.

Boxing ring.. not a bad idea, of course we need the padding, nothing too violent... But I was just at the Rennaisance Festival today, so I'm thinking (new concept   ) that we should have full armor jousting! Can you see it? The Passion's Poetic Joust? Yes! And Ron could be the King, and knight the winner, and then he could be king (queen? Ya never know!) for a day. Yes, a joust! To arms, comrades! Today we joust! ROFL

Christopher- I believe Ron has that position as the king.  If you really want it I believe a tournament is in order.

JP- I think that you may be looking at a wizard's duel for that position.

Nan- I thing you as queen would be a great idea.  I can think of no one better to oversee the kingdom in the absense of the king.  Who will you pick as your Champion?

ERIN- You may want to bring those gloves.  There may be a lot of competion around here.

Now how about the positions of First Knight, the princes and princesses, stablemaster, head cook(always need one of those),royal advisors, a few princes and princesses from other courts that have come a courting, barons and baronesses, and we must not forget the jester(maybe this one would be good for Christopher.  What do you think?).  Who would like one of these positions?

Boy this could be fun.  Come one, come all.  The party is just starting.  Lets all just have some good fun.

The White Wolf

PS  I think I could be a prince from another kingdom that has come to learn the ruling styles of his nieghbors and maybe find a suitable queen.

Nothing so mundane as a boring princess for me...well, I will be BUT I won't be an ordinary princess.

I'm going to be a liberalistic, determined-to-be-emancipated bored one...

so, what I am going to do, (as the boring journey over to the kingdom is being planned), while being entertained by a juggler and appearing demure and bored, is furiously plot my escape.

I will stash clothes at a strategic place in the woods and when the time is right I will jump from my very boring litter, steal away into the woods, evade the worried knights who search futilely (fighting errant dragons all the while - I'll evade those too), get the clothes, chop my hair off with my handy dagger (troll protection you know, Father insists on it...)

and transform!

Into SIR REALLYAPRIN.

And go fight!
And win fame and glory!

And laugh at my bored sisterhood as I knock down all those absurd men from their horses...

yes, yes

that's the plan!

See you there poor unsuspecting fellows...

Severn the wayward princess.  Daddy won't be too happy but it will be fun to watch.

LoveBug- That is nice of you.  I totally forgot we need one of them.  Excellent choice.

Dusk Treader- Retired because of insanity?  I thought that is a requirement to be a court wizard.  Doomsday?  End of the kingdom?  Who told you that?

Many roles are still open.  Still waiting to here back from Christopher to see if he will accept the position though.

Sudhir Iyer- Sounds good.  Will you be eating for your favorite competitor also?

Sunshine- A maid in waiting.  Yes we do need some of those.  Who are you waiting for though?

Alicat- Lowly dishboy?  I think you would make a better prince that hangs around the kitchen too much to flirt with the serving girls.  Whatta you say?

Paula Finn- Wizard's sidekick, the witch in training.  Well if you don't mind mind all of his crazy talk about the impending doom and stuff then I am sure Dusk Treader wouldn't mind some company.

Sven- Head cook it is then.  What's for dinner?

sweetcollege_girl- Trumpetess? Yes we do need some of those.  Wrong note?  Who would notice with all that racket going on.  You'll do just fine.

WW - as long as the appropriate party identifies himself correctly, then I shall know if he shall be the one I have waited for...BTW, don't forget the Jester...we still need one of those...even two, perhaps...

now, as a lady-in-waiting, I must dress in fine silks and satins, wear copious amounts of perfume from the most Oriental of lands, fine jewels shall frame my face and decorate my hairbraids, and where did I lay my needlework and fine volumes of poetry to read aloud to the Queen...

Ok. . .dinner. . .

Let's see. . .

Roast Mutton
Roast Lamb w/mint sauce
Cornish Hens
Pheasant
Rice Pilaf

Potatoes
Carrots
Leeks
Salad (leafy Lettuce, Tomatoes, Carrots, and the like)

Mead
Ale
Wine
Grape Juice

Trifles
Marzipan
Sponge cake
Chocolate

Sound good??  Of course all of the tables would be decorated in the spirit of the time, laden with candles, silverware, and plates.

Each course accompanied by appropriate music, and announced by the head of the servants.  Presented to your lords and ladies by impressively dressed servants, and served piping hot (or cold as the case may be)

You approve WW??

I'm sorry about your squire White Wolf.. It seems he's just croaked... He's on a lilypad if you need him   But I have your charger mounted and your armor polished to make up for it!

Nan, what's your strategy on the field of battle, attack male opponents while they're too busy oogling? LOL It'd work well, methinks...Unless you're insane!!!

Let's the contest begin, I say! *Trys to cast a teleport spell and ends up in the dungeon*

After stuffing herself...I mean himself...with cheesecake (smuggled in from The Land Of Nodessertisbadforyou) Sir Reallyaprin rescues the hapless Ex-Wizard (all the while thinking: I really should just make him stay in here...) and helps him carefully to a cushion. There ensued a screaming match where the helpless Wizard did try to turn Sir Reallyaprin into a frog of some description but we'll leave that one for the bards...)

Fine then Wizard!

I'll see YOU on the field...that's the kind of thanks I get.

Now...off to find some bored damsel to give me her favour...gotta look the part and all.

None of this white fluttery stuff...a nice blue bit of stiff brocade that won't flap around and get in my face. Yeah - that's it...

Now that was rude of you Sir Dusk Treader.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a beautiful princess that is willing to kiss a frog.  So be it.  You need to get off of that cushion and prepare yourself for a duel.

While you go prepare I shall go save my squire from that giant fish about to have his dinner.

"Oh, princess, i was once a handsome prince but the wicked magician turned me into a toad.  If you will kiss me, I will once again be a prince and we can live in the castle with my mother, you can have my babies and cook and clean and we will live happily ever after!"

I want to be a wizard's conjure. A mischievious pixie that spikes the meads and ales with love potions and cast spells on the jousters so they become jesters and turn horses into frogs, armor into satin. I'd love to create havoc in the royal court and give water to the boxers that has been doctored with sleeping powders. Of course, I would be elusive because I would just be a conjure and the wizard would love my antics so much, he couldn't bear to do away with me.

Stuffed French Toast with honey nut cream cheese and a smattering of strawberries in the middle and a mix of maple and strawberry (not too much) syrup. Maybe a couple of maple sausage links too. And Mimosa!! Love Mimosa!! Now I'm hungry. I'm sure you can whip that up in no time Chef Sven. See ya at the table LOL

Oh I would so love to be one of those elegant ladies in waiting. Prancing around awaiting her knight in shinning armor to steal her heart. Hmmmm where are the knights anyway?
And dear Chef Sven I would find a blueberry cheesecake simply devine. Do you think it would be possible to get a tall pitcher of iced tea also? It does get so terribly warm in this attire ya know.

Didst thou not just eat leftovers for breakfast back then???

Sir Sven: If thou shouldst ever need help in the kitchen, just send one of those page boys, and I'll help. Courtiers can cook too, Sir   It would have to be a secret though, for we courtiers wouldst not like to be denounced

OK. . .

Let's see. . .

Muselix. . .with fruit garnishes (blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries)
Milk
Sugar
Coffee (or a reasonable representation)
Tea (Sun tea, that is)

Haggis
Sausages
Pancakes (buckwheat)

Bread
Butter
Mead
Honey

That should cover it. . .

And if I hear any more comments about the service (*ahem* Juls. . . ) my staff and I will walk!!!  LOL

Chef Sven I was merely stating how thirsty I was and yearning for a piece of that famous cheesecake of yours. Word has spread throughout the land that it is simply heavenly and the very thought of it made my mouth water. Now can you blame me for being thirsty? I would think not Sir. Oh and I heard once about a former chef who threatened to walk and something tragic happened to his head. Now about that cheesecake....

Yanno, it's kinda funny, in a small way, that this thread started out being about a boxing ring, then quickly became a mixture of Medieval Times and Starbucks. Is we still having the boxing ring, or is we just gonna squabble about the menu?

Hey Juls. . . I know that my cheesecake is good. . . but my staff and I are not just going to stand around and let you tell us that we're not doing our job!!

Ali. . . I thought that this was a boxing thing too!!  But you start to talk about food, and things just go downhill from there!!!  LOL

I have been gone for a week or so and am honored to have the responses that I have.  I never expected so many.  It has been fun I must admit.  But like all good things(and bad things for that matter) must come to an end.  Not that I want it to end though.  I just wanted to thank you all for all of the responses to one of my first posts.  I have felt very welcome.  Thank You.

PS  I will try to get some poetry up soon, seeing as to that this is a poetry site.

Oh No, WW, the Alley is just the venue for this jousting, joking, jovial, jaw-cracking, lip-smacking stuff...and we're so very glad YOU started it all...
