I've seen some movies lately and thought I'd let you know my 'review' of each of them:

Almost Famous - this will be one of my favorites for this year. If you get a chance, please see it. Goldie Hawn's daughter, Kate Hudson, is in it and she's great! It's the story of a young kid who writes an article about a rock band...I think we'll see some Oscar nominations from this one. I give it a big

Pay it Forward - Kevin Spacey can do no wrong in my book. Helen Hunt is a good actress and in this movie she allows herself to look terrible. Haley Joel Osmet is very good - as he was in 'Sixth Sense". The movie is good to a point, then I felt like they were using my compassion as a weapon to wring out my tears - I did cry but I felt used. I give it a big:

The Contender - I loved this - it had intrigue and smart dialogue! And an ending I didn't expect. Jeff Bridges wasn't as likeable as Martin Sheen (in the TV show West Wing) as the Prez. I thought Gary Oldman looked so bad! But that was his character. I give this movie:

Billy Elliot - I love this kind of movie. There were maybe 50 people in the theater and since it was an English movie it started out hard to understand. Once you get into the dialect, you will love it. The actor who played Billy is great! And the storyline is fantastic...to see all these grownups so upset because an 11 year old boy would rather dance ballet than box is hysterical! The family relationships are honest and funny. I will definitely see this movie again. I give it a resounding:

The question is... can a man take a chance on a woman's review of a film-- or will he find himself suffering through yet another.... "chick flick".......lol

PdV~ I am looking forward to seeing Almost Famous, I have to wait till it comes out on video though......with 3 kids getting to the movies is next to impossible......I do love the Matrix......(and of course I have a weakness for Purple Rain).....shhh I know, I hear it from my mom already!

I just rented Fairy Tale, Black Beauty, and Shanghi Noon........... they were all great.   -SEA

Jamie!!! Didn't I agree with you the other night when you thought I wouldn't? How can you think I would steer you to a 'chick flick'...

DO NOT go see Dr. T and the Women. I regret it (though Richard Gere is sexy!) I wanted not only my money back, but I wanted those 2 hours back!!!

RUSSELL CROWE!!!!

Oh, it was a good movie, too. I love historical drama.

PdV~
I dont know if you seen Lost Souls yet but if you didnt I would not recommend it. The movie itself was good except for the ending. The ending really sucked.

And for the rental movies I suggest The Skulls. It was a really good one!!!

Saw "Charlie's Angels" last night. Not much of a plotline, but it's a fun movie. I love how the girls beat up guys!!
