If you could sing like anyone, who would it be? Who gets you lip syncing into the hair brush or long necked beer bottle?  Do tell...

Great question!   If you ask me tomorrow I'll likely have a different answer lol. If the long neck bottles are full likely to be like Van Morrison but as they empty something closer to Jimmy Barnes. lol

Bjork.

I can sing a bit...have to be in a 'song'... frame of something lol...to sound really good, but if I could sing professionally it'd be like Bjork for sure...her voice - wow...

what can one say?

Who wants to sound like all the rest?

So Eagleone--we can count on you for the vocals to "brown-eyed girl"? Great!!! You're hired...

and K...not only is Bjork a great vocal talent, she also is quite the actress, AND has a mean right hook....and she manages to stay "cute" the whole time. GOTTA RESPECT THAT. ROFL...while keeping my left guard up.

Celine Dion and Sarah McLachan

I can not sing at ALL, but it has always been a dream to be able to do so, and yes these two are my very very favorite singers, mostly because of what these songs are about, but also thier voices, they do sing beautifully.

This may seem strange from someone as young as I am, however--- Bing Crosby or Dean Martin.. on the more current side- Rod Stewart or Vince Gill

Layne Staley of Alice in Chains fame (Who's that, right?)

I'm not complaining, Krista... None of their voices have quite the same beauty as yours...

I love to sing...therefore, sing just about every song!! but if I had to choose someone, I would say...Mariah Carey (range),Sarah Mclauglin(beauty),or faith hill(outright lovely voice)

I guess, for now, until I kill one of them, and somehow format my voice similar to one of theirs I'll have to settle for my own 1st place in state voice...no one here's bragging...   really I'm not...just proud, right?

Serenity, OBVIOUSLY you've never heard me sing. Why would I want to sound like anything but perfection? ~bats eyes~

Gosh, SO many...
Uhm, as far as range and $$$notes (those endless high-hitting things that can bust speakers?): Celine Dion (crickey, she's got lungs... just wish she could find a few decent songs to sing)
A simply beautiful, unique voice: Dayna Manning or Sarah Bettens (K's Choice)
A package of beautiful, unique voice and amazing conveyance of emotion: Natalie Merchant (oh, doesn't she have the coolest voice???)
An overall package of emotional power, range, and just plain goose-bump beauty: Tori Amos... I mean, WOW.

Great question, btw.

I'd like to sing like Billy Corgan, lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins. I'd also like to have his mind and his writing skills.

Denise....

You don't have to be a guy to sing songs that guys do...all you have to do is love the songs. There are very few female singers I love to sing to cuz I have such a horrible voice...can't reach a lot of those high notes without squeaking. Easier for me to sing a lot of the songs I love by guys. So go ahead and be Rod Stewart for a song or two. His hairdo is easy to copy, too!

Natalie Merchant is grand, along with almost every single other female artist (and somme men) that ya'll named, but I would have to choose between Shirley Manson or Fiona Apple.

Oh. Almost forgot. You can get a great "reverb" effect in an empty coffee mug...if ya move it back and forth...but then again, you can a great effect out of anything, if ya move it back and forth...

serenity, I hope you mean uhm that uhm you can have a great reverberating effect out of anything if you move it back and forth. Oh! My virgin ears! Or, if it was innocenct… Oh! My gutter mind!

What I was originally going to ask: The shower song? Is that the real title? Are you talking about “Your House” … is THAT the real title??? Anyway, if you’re talking about the song with the “dance in your shower” line… I sing that in the shower all the time. What IS the correct name of that darn song?
Anyway, the point was that I like it too… sheesh.

depends on my mood. (and whether or not myroommates are home- we have really thin walls) but i must agree with some of you. first of all with dopey. billy corgan is my idol. i cried when they broke up. and anyone who said natalie merchant... but mostly when she sang for 10,000 Maniacs. Our Ttime in Eden is the best. And Adam Duritz. Wow. Anna Begins, Sycamore Street, Amy Hit the Atmosphere... Hey, my roomies aren't home. I'm going to go listen to Counting Crows....!
