OK so I am having a real bad dat but PLEASE!!!!!

poetry is still a form of english language, Just cause you press enter doenst mean you can miss out full stops, commas, question marks, and all those other glorious bits that dont fit within the 26 characters called letters.

think of the dyslexics in the world like me.... give us some idea when to breathe

the thing about poetry is
sometimes it's punctuated with
semi-colons stressing a pause
and the reader's lost not knowing
and sometimes it's not and there are
no periods explanation
points
no differentiation
of pragmatic platitudes
in the persuasion of
words attempting
emotion with only 26 letters
because that's all there is
you know

and i know
and you may not know
but there is a certain
infinity
in the flow of
things
with our without

punctuation

because life continues
oftentimes
without a breath
and i'm breathing
now deep
breathing
rapid
breathing
trying to get

to the end
of my thought but
here's the deal

styles come and styles
go as do loves so we must
let them

breathe in
breathe out
let them take hold
let go

punctuation is something
i often have and often don't
depending on the need of it
because sometimes
sometimes
sometimes

i don't want it to stop
i just want to keep breathing

- all you can ever really ask out of life is a sincere apology and some decent poetry -

It did yesterday.

Probably  because the archives have been packed up in little boxes for the shift to the new server!

hey, Rebellious Wing'ed One... THANKS for punctuating me!!!

philip- here's the poem from the archives... (now offline)

Kevin -

Twenty-Six Letters

curl me up
in pages with
indelible ink -
your words verbal
on the edge of a wing -
fly me fast to the
sweet song of twilight
seeping melody past
dawn's illusion.

there are no margins
on a page penned with
an infinite number of words
sequences combinations and phrases
all constructed from the same
exact twenty-six letters

curl me under your wing
and i'll sing a melody
without dissonance
blended with the
chords of ecclasiastes'
familiar claim

there is nothing new
under the sun?
ah, but the geometric
formations are
limitless

twenty-six letters
that's all there are
seven notes

sing me the alphabet
and we'll write notes
in keys owned by
a dance in flight

infinity has
no margins

Yeah, I see this a lot in the Teen forum, it's pretty much left up to the reader where to stop.  That can totally change a meaning in a poem!

I'm sorry.  I guess it's my ee cummings influence, but I just don't punctuate.  I happen to like my poetry without any punctuation, thank you very much ;P   *sigh* I will try to make an effort in including all of the . , ! ? etc... but old habbits are hard to break! hehehe

Actually..you are quite right!

It is needed in poetry, moreso perhaps because after all poetry should breathe!  Spelling is also very important for a bad dat!   < !signature-->

So punctuation is important.  Well personally I would say that there are some of us who don't know how to "properly" punctuate.  So if you aren't willing to hold a class for those of us less fortunate than yourselves, please(how do I put this gently), then put a sock in it.  And even if you are willing, there are still those of us that have no desire to learn.  So I still say you need to put a sock in it.
